When the group chat can’t decide on whether to make it a breakfast or lunch moment, QT Gold Coast have come in with the goods – Soul Sundays at Bazaar, aka brunch!

Fashions change but brunch never goes out of style and we always trust the masters at Bazaar to fill that brunch shaped hole in our hearts, and our stomachs. Because honestly, what’s not to love.

Bazaar is an icon on the Gold Coast dining scene for good reason. It’s quite literally a smorgasbord of all your favourite feasts, where you can ditch the Euro summer trip and just eat your way around the world at the Interactive marketplace for just $79. Side note, it’s even cheaper for locals until the end of August. See all the details here.

It’s a debate as old as time – what’s the best meal of the day? Well don’t force yourself to decide, brunch literally gives you the best of both worlds – err we mean, meals. While the Bazaar brunch has always been top notch, QT Gold Coast have put a new spin on the classic offerings, and we are here for it.

If you’re in for a cheeky boozy brunch – or hair of the dog if your Saturday night was a little less on the wholesome side, you’ll love the customisable champagne station designed to ‘Sweeten your Sip’. With a range of ready to pour juices and nectars to match any outfit, mood or vibe, the Director of Champagne is exactly what our Sundays were missing. Add on 2 hours of flowing G.H. Mumm Champagne for $59 or Mumm Sparkling for $29.

Without a doubt, Bazaar is one of the most impressive buffets around with flavours that will take you from a Middle Eastern souk to a Latin American bodega. There’s a flavour for everyone with seriously delicious slow cooked meats through to fresh seafood as well as all of your favourite breakfast eats – think waffles, crepes and so much more. So even that fussy eater friend – you know the one that’s normally a nightmare to eat out with – will leave totally satisfied.

If you’re there to get the perfect Instaworthy shot (guilty) the fondue grazing fountain is calling your name with both milk and white chocolate options, as well as healthy and not-so-healthy options to dip – yes please.

We don’t know about you but we’re already rounding up the troops for a fizztastic Sunday brunch club moment. With a soul singer adding extra vibes Soul Sundays are bound to be your new favourite way to round out the weekend.

Nowhere does brunch quite like Bazaar, so don’t miss out on it from 11:30am – 3pm each Sunday.

11 of the best Gold Coast buffets

Seafood at Harvest Buffet, The Star Gold Coast (image supplied)
Seafood at Harvest Buffet, The Star Gold Coast (image supplied)

The history of buffet style eating is a mixed affair. Its origins could be said to hark back to a mixture of cultures — from Asia to Europe. The ‘smorgasbord’ became internationally known as such at the 1939 New York World’s Fair exhibition, because the Swedes had to invent a new way of showcasing the best of Swedish food to large numbers of visitors. And the rest, as they say, is history…

Whoever can claim to have been responsible, we’re not fussed! The point is buffets — and smorgasbords — are amazing ways to reach newfound eating goals, and we’ve got quite a few exceptional ones right here on the Gold Coast. Happy binge eating, folks!

Chapter and Verse

Located in the luxurious JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, high tea at Chapter & Verse is an unmissable resort tradition created by their esteemed culinary team. Using local ingredients, this team take their high tea business seriously – sharing that each homemade morsel is inspired by the echo of birds in the resort’s peaceful and tranquil surrounds. So excuse us as we channel our inner seagull and duke it out over the likes of JW lavender, honey, white chocolate chip scones with fig and peach jam and fresh cream and Lobster crumpet with citrus aioli… we kid, of course – only our best etiquette for a classy establishment like the Marriott. There’s also a cute mini-me version for the little ones, Teeny Tiny Tea for $39 per child. Prices start from $79 per adult.

Bumbles

Tucked peacefully a stone’s throw from the Budds Beach waterfront, Surfers stalwart Bumbles has long been a beloved spot to meet for coffee and some grazing action (and now cocktails – thanks to neighbouring big sis sip spot, Blue House #squee).

Inside the most charming little cafe in 4217 (and perhaps, the entire coast), there’s a mix of themed private rooms that branch off the main space – so it figures that it also makes a particularly spesh spot for a fanciful high tea soiree. Acquaint yourself with the divinely appointed Library (or luxurious Hamptons room, perhaps) and tuck into a spread of smoked salmon blinis, pint-sized quiches, fruit tarts and tea sandwiches. Bookings for the “regular” high tea (a misnomer if ever we’ve heard one) come in at $50 per person, with dietary and bubbles options also available. La-de-dah indeed.

The variety of pinky-popping menus also includes a champas-studded Extraordinary High Tea experience, a Man Tea for a more savoury take and a mini spread for your little Q’Ties for $39 per child.

Here, the typical savoury tea fare has been treated to a tapas-style twist, such as Spiced Tempura Cauliflower and Smoked Salmon and Cucumber Poppers to excite the taste buds – so, move over cucumber sandwich, you culinary snooze-fest you (there, we said it). And don’t get us started on the Caramello chiffon and Mini Pavlova. Prices start at $69 per adult with a variety of boozy upgrade options, such as jugs of Aperol Spritz and Pink Gin Spritz to really enhance your experience.

Refinery Coffee

Why wait for the weekend? Refinery Coffee reckons any day is a good day to bust out the boozy OJ for this beloved mid-morning ritual, and we wholeheartedly agree. Available from 10am daily, gather your celebratory crew and report to Currumbins light-filled converted warehouse for the Bottomless Brunch option. Here, you can tuck into your pick from the all-day eats menu, such as the Turkish Style Poached Eggs or Eggs Benny, while throwing back Classic & Watermelon mimosas for 1.5 blissful hours. The only caveat is that your whole crew must be partaking (is that even a question), with a non-alc option also available. For just $62 pp, we’ll say bottoms up!

Boozy brunch, but make it a random Tuesday. Kefi Café is dishing up 90 minutes of bottomless mimosas – classic, pineapple or sunrise – for $60pp every day (like, Monday-Sunday) from 10am. Pair your fizz with a main like the lemon-curd loaded Hotcake or their beet-hummus-and-harissa-nut topped Avo Toast, and soak up all the feel-good Gold Coast vibes. Bottomless brunch before noon?
