Your guide to the best local NYE parties

Every year, time absolutely flies by and every year, we’re surprised by time absolutely flying by. 2018 was no exception and before you know it, you’ll be counting down the seconds until 2019 at the Gold Coast party of your choice.

But which party will you choose? To make things a little easier, or perhaps harder, here are a few we’ve collated to ensure you don’t miss out on a very good time this New Years Eve (from north to south). 

Aviary Rooftop Bar
Welcome in 2019 with your friends in style at the recently opened Aviary Rooftop Bar cocktail event – Skyline Soiree. Experience the unparalleled views of the city with a four hour beverage package and funky vibes mixed by DJ Damo Cox. Tickets are $129.

Mr PP’s
Southport’s epic rooftop bar will be putting on an unmissable party with live music, DJs and drink and food packages perfect for an evening of celebration with the crew. Of course, from way up there you’ll get a sweet view of Southport’s fireworks and we all know that’s the very best part.

Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort
Round up your crew for ‘A Glamorous Affair’ in the Mirage Grand Ballroom to welcome in 2019. This adults-only event will feature a delicious buffet dinner, deluxe beverage package and glamorous theming. Time to dress to the nines and dance the night away. Tickets are $229.

Southport Yacht Club
A seafood buffet and live entertainment by The Hip Replacements will be a good spot to welcome 2019. It’s all happening at the Main Beach Club House overlooking the water and tickets are just $109 per person. Book here.

QT Gold Coast
Midnight in Paris is the name of the game at QT Gold Coast this New Years Eve and it’s set to be a showstopper. Choose from three luxe, French-inspired soirees and bring in 2019 in the sophisticated style you deserve.

  • Stingray
    An opulent Parisian party will go down at Stingray with Perrier Jouet on arrival and three hours of premium drinks and French-inspired canapés with DJs and live entertainment throughout the night. Tickets are $119 per person. Book here.

    An incredible Japanese dinner could be the perfect way to start a new year and Yamagen can certainly provide the goods. You’ll get a glass of French champagne on arrival and tickets are just $80 for the 6pm to 9pm session and $100 for the 9pm until late session. Book here.

Chapter and Verse
It’s a Tropical Paradise Party at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa. Dance the night away on the alfresco deck overlooking lush tropical surrounds with live DJ entertainment and enjoy a flowing three hour premium beverage package with canapés. Tickets are just $100 per person, book here.

Hard Rock Cafe
The 80s brought may have seen some questionable fashion choices, but you can’t argue that the music was epic. Which is why the Hard Rock Cafe Surfers Paradise presents 80’s Revisited this NYE. With a slew of memorable 80’s tunes spun by DJ Steve Dart and a ceiling balloon drop at midnight, this will be a party guaranteed to take you back in time. Tickets are $150pp, book here.

The Island
Super-lavish and totally extra, this multi-level soirée will be all about maxed-out glamour! Set across three levels and six exclusive spaces, guests will experience a New Year’s Eve production like no other on the Gold Coast. Tickets to the Cocktail Party include a 4.5 hour premium food and drinks package on the pool deck and rooftop with live music all night for $149 and the VIP Experience gets you a 4.5 hour super premium package in the penthouse with next-level entertainment for $199.

Surfers Paradise
A New Years Eve Carnival will take place in Surfers Paradise over six days bringing all kinds of fun and frivolity to the streets. There’ll be daily attractions for the little ones to enjoy and the entire party will culminate in the biggest fireworks display the Gold Coast has on offer over Surfers’ beach. Happy days.

SkyPoint Australia
You’ll be Havana good time way up high at SkyPoint this New Years Eve with their yes, Havana themed party. You get a 4.5-hour drinks package, 3 hours of canapés (including a cheese and antipasto station) plus a Cuban band and DJ, salsa dancers, stilt walkers and fire performers to keep you on your toes. Tickets are $199.

Bistro on 3
If you’ve got wee ones, you might be keen for an early celebration and then home to bed (same but with no kids). Bistro on 3 have you covered with a gourmet seafood and carvery buffet and live entertainment from 5.30pm. The Star Gold Coast
Could there be any better place to party this New Year’s Eve? Choose from a picnic on the Lawn, indulge in a special meal at one of the many excellent restaurants, watch the fireworks or ring in the New Year with The Star Gold Coast’s iconic balloon drop in the Atrium Foyer. However you celebrate, this might just be the place to get your 2019 off to a dazzling start.

  • nineteen at The Star
    Style and sophistication will reign supreme on the rooftop at nineteen. Enjoy an unforgettable, multi-course dining experience paired with the most elegant, prime celebration location, or dance the night away in the stunning bar. The Sunset Menu includes a five-course dinner for $160 per person and the Moonlight Menu is seven courses for $220. There’ll also be an extravagant New Years Day party and tickets are $149 here.
  • Garden Kitchen & Bar
    Fireworks, food and fun are the catch cry for New Years Eve at Garden Kitchen & Bar. For $165 you’ll get a set menu, three-hour beverage package, entertainment and access to festivities on the lawn. Fun indeed. Book here.
  • Harvest Buffet
    The Coast’s newest buffet is the place to indulge on NYE. Celebrate by feasting on the best seafood, salads, meats, platters, cheeses, and desserts including the famous Chocolate Fountain with a drink on arrival for $99.
  • Cucina Vivo
    Celebrate in Italian style at Cucina Vivo with seatings at 5pm and 8pm and a degustation menu including four hours of beverages for $185. Book here
    Imperial at The Star
    A Chinese banquet is on the cards and a delicious one at that. Choose Imperial at The Star and for $145 you get a glass of wine of sparkling on arrival and a seven-course banquet menu. Book here.

    Farewell 2018 in Japanese style with the freshest ingredients exquisitely prepared and presented for your pleasure. Enjoy an eight-course feast with champagne on arrival for $145 for two people. Book here.

Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant
Celebrate New Years Eve in the spookiest way possible with a ghost train ride, Dracula’s new show Nine Pints, a three course meal with your choice of main and a complimentary glass of bubbles for $150. Nine Pints is a fun, music and comedy-filled show so you’ll definitely be enjoying a raucous party at your favourite local cabaret restaurant.

The Collective
Escape around the world with the Palmy favourites to end 2018 with a bang. It’ll be a five course of the globe style situation with each kitchen representing their home country by cooking up traditional fare. You can get yourself a Business Class ticket including a three-hour food and beverage package for $165 or First Class tickets with a VIP reserved rooftop space with three hours of food and beverages, a champagne service and dedicated five-star service for $265. It goes from 8pm to 2am and it sounds like the party of the year to us. Book here.
