11 sweet spots for St Patrick’s Day celebrations

Oh here come the Irish puns Gold Coasters. It’s St Patrick’s Day (on Tuesday March 17th) and you know what that means – BULK BEER DRINKING FOR THE WIN.

We love St Paddy’s Day. Irish people are so great and so are Irish foods and Irish beers and Irish jokes so here we go to be sure.

In honour of a day dedicated to the Irish, here’s a list of drinking holes to raise your pint glass (from north to south).

Harrigan’s Irish Pub
It’s a big day of good times up north at Harrigan’s with Irish bands, Irish dancers, an Irish pipe band, drink specials and to top it off, prizes to give away all day! All the best things.

Dublin Docks Tavern
Celebrating St Patrick’s Day for only one day isn’t enough! So Dublin Docks are kicking off the celebrations early on Saturday the 14th of March! Dress up in your favourite Irish outfit and join them over the weekend for loads of Irish fun including live Irish bands, dancers and yummy Irish food!

Southport Sharks
Immerse yourself in all things Irish when O’Leary & the MunsterBucks come to Southport Sharks on March 14th. Hailing from Munster, Ireland the band members stay true to their roots. O’Leary & the MunsterBucks will perform both traditional and contemporary music from some of Ireland’s most beloved musicians, representing their culture and passion for music. Catch them from 8.30pm.

Waxy’s Irish Pub
It’s always a good time at Waxy’s but particularly on and around St Patrick’s Day. This year will be their biggest celebration yet with live music all afternoon and night and plenty of live music from the weekend onwards. Head down there for the very best Irish time there is to be had or pop upstairs to their Skyline Rooftop Bar.

Kitty O’Shea’s
It’ll be Irish jig time at Kitty O’Shea’s with live music from 12pm to 3pm and 8pm until 11pm. There’ll  be Guiness, Magners and Kilkenny on tap as well as lots of cocktails to choose from and of course some food and drink specials too. Never a dull moment at Kitty O’Sheas Gold Coasters, get down there.

Finn McCools
Gear up for an everything Irish day at Finn McCools! They’ll be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with Irish food, probably a wee bit too much of Guinness, and of course; great craic! There will be live entertainment from The Gathering, Alseep at the Reel, Limerick and Gold Coast’s very own pipe band, and Irish dancers! Join Finn McCools for a day that means so much to them with lots of promos and giveaways to be won on the day!

D’arcy Arms Irish Pub
It’s a festival of the Irish at the Coast’s oldest (and much-loved) Irish pub, D’arcy Arms. There’ll be full-blown St Patrick’s Day festivities over three huge days (Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th from 12pm and Tuesday 17th March from 10am) with live Irish music and Irish dancing displays, a marquee bar and a spit roast (17th March only). Head down there for some traditional Irish fare (incl. Classic Beef & Guinness Stew) and what’s sure to be the time of your life.

The Bavarian
The Bavarian are inviting diners to get their green on and celebrate the luckiest day of the year, St Patrick’s Day. The Broady venue will serve a green-coloured beer in their famous 1-litre, glass boots ($25), as an ode to the Irish. A St Patrick’s Day loaded schnitzel ($30) will also be available: featuring cabbage, bacon, mash and gravy. YUM. We’ll take one of each please.

Robina Pavillion
You’ll be treated to an awful good time with $5 Green Kilkenny Pints on St Paddy’s Day at Robina Pavilion. For extra Irish spirit, Kilkenny will be flowing at great prices all week and you’ll be able to fill your jolly bellies with Steak and Guinness Pies. All this to a soundtrack of delightful Irish tunes. See you there lads & laddies!

Bine Bar & Dining
The beer loving crew will be hosting a St Paddy’s themed trivia night and while we would be absolutely terrible at that, it sounds like an epic time. It’s on Tuesday the 17th so gather the crew for several beers and even more good times.

The party people of Burleigh will be throwing the ultimate ahh party on their hospo night, March 17th. It’ll be an Irish punks party with Jameson providing some sweet sips and good times will of course be the name of the game.
