NRL fans nationwide are gearing up for what’s set to be one of the biggest weekends in the code’s history, and we are rucking excited. Never one to miss a beat when it comes to live and loud sporting action, the GC’s home of sports viewing, Sports Bar at The Star Gold Coast, is also prepping for the spec-TACKLE-ular season kick-off on Sunday 3rd March.

Now for those who aren’t NFL-inclined or have perhaps been living under a rock, bLASphemy coz this opening round will be an absolute bLASt (#clues). That’s right, we’re hard launching ‘our’ footy to our NFL loving friends in the US of A, by way of two unmissable games in the OG Sin City. No, not the defunct club in Orchard, but actual Las Vegas and guys, the players gonna play play play play play play #StillSwifting.

If a trip to Vegas doesn’t really work in with your budget, firstly, can relate, and secondly, this Plan B trumps Plan A and pls don’t read into our use of the word trump. The atmosphere at Sports Bar will be just as touchdown-tastic and, because we love a good community service announcement, we feel it’s our duty to inform the GC people that these iconic games will not be shown on free to air #shooketh. This means one thing and one thing only – all roads lead to Sports Bar and really, like we even needed an excuse.

For background funsies, four teams have been chosen to compete in the Vegas season launch, playing back-to-back games. Join us at Sports Bar to witness history in the making from Allegiant Stadium with the Sea Eagles taking on the Rabbitohs on Sunday 3rd March at 12.30pm AEST. Next up at 2.30pm AEST, it’s our almighty Broncos’ (bow down) doing what they do best against the Roosters, and hell hath no fury like a 2023 runner up team vying for top dog.

What goes hand-in-hand with NRL and duh, SCRUM-ptious food of course. Naturally, Sports Bar is coming to the table (literally) with all the crowd favourites, including other burgers and chips coz #USA, and an array of sumptuous snacks. It’s a MATCH made in heaven.

Like your NRL and nosh served with a hearty side of entertainment and again, you’ve come to the right place. There’ll be an MC, cheerleaders flexing their spirit fingers, and even an ex-NRL player so BYO autograph book. Then, after cheering your team to victory, you can celebrate (or commiserate…) at Atrium Bar with a live DJ until 12am. Score!

Picture this: the game’s on, your crew’s assembled, the beer is icy cold, and the only thing louder than the crowd is your mate who suddenly thinks he’s the coach. Whether you’re a die-hard fan, a casual observer, or just here for the snacks, these Gold Coast sports bars (listed north to south for your convenience) have you covered.
