When it comes to things Gold Coasters cannot live without, the list is small but unwavering. The beach, because it’s life; our four-legged friends, they’re the best; and coffee, well, because without it, how is somebody even supposed to face the day!? Speciality coffee and the love and adoration behind it is without a doubt one of the integral parts of our rampant café scene here on the Gold Coast. Who needs to visit our big southern neighbours for a decent cup of joe anymore? Not us!

Saint Coffee Collective is the caffeinated pit stop — if you’re up the northern end of the Coast — you should be adding to your day. Located at the busy Gold Coast University Hospital G:Link tram station, the two-person team, led by owner Hal Cozens, are steadfast in ensuring only the finest coffee makes its way into your cup. The kiosk itself is set back from the tracks and even has small tables and seating to one side, meaning you can take a break from the world and watch the afternoon light cascade down from above ground — your own private moment with a great of coffee is one of life’s greatest yet simplest pleasures, are we not right?

Hal only uses the finest beans from long-established roasters, Supreme. These guys date back to 1993 and have operations in Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and not forgetting Tokyo. It’s a reasonable assumption with so many locations and a long history of roasting, these guys are making some mighty fine coffee — and they most certainly are. Many of the Coffee Supreme team were baristas and cafe owners in previous lives, and in the cup, it shows.

There are two different blends of beans available, one preferred for those who like it black and another who must have theirs with some type of milk. Got milk? They most certainly do. Using only the best kinds of milk around, like Bonsoy and Norco, and then measuring the weight of coffee for each shot means the experience is only elevated. Consistency is critical in knocking out great coffee and making people come back — day after day — and Saint Coffee Collective expects to see your face regularly!

As well as top-rated jitter juice, you’ll find a small assortment of sweets and cookies available, as well as the option to purchase the beans behind your coffee so you can continue the flavour fiesta at home on your own time.

Starting the day right is paramount. And Saint Coffee Collective is the only way to step off the tram and into a deftly made cup of motivation.

When: Monday — Friday: 5.30am – 4pm
Saturday: 7am – 12pm

Where: Kiosk 1, Gold Coast University Hospital Station Corner Hospital Boulevard and Parklands Drive, Southport
