As you might expect, a restaurant called The Wine Barrel has quite the selection of wine for your tasting pleasure. The Mudgeeraba gem boasts one of the very best wine lists around and the gurus behind the bar will ensure yours is an experience to remember. From Margaret River to Tuscany and sparkling to sherry, there’s sure to be a tipple that’ll tickle your tastebuds (and the food is the goods too). Love this place.

No doubt you’ve noticed the unrivalled wine room that exists at Nobby’s favourite Hellenika, it’s the length of half the upstairs space and we would really love to go hang out in there for a little while please. Back to the wine. Every single bottle on the list has been chosen to compliment the incredible menu and each one has a reason for being included. Of course Greek wines make an appearance, as do varieties from many other regions known for their world-class sips. Hellenika employs the needle-through-the-cork system that ensures wine can be taken out of the bottle without the remainder being spoiled. Which means premium wine, at its best. Perfection each and every time.

Frederick’s Wine Bar
A relative newbie on the list, Frederick’s Wine Bar made its mark on Nobby’s in 2018 and, as is the way with a wine bar, the dishes are perfectly matched to the MANY varieties of wine on offer and a treat Frederick’s wine list is. There are 21 tipples by the glass and 50 by the bottle, many of which are Australian varieties along with a select few from France, Italy and Spain. Each one is by a small batch producer and each one is absolute magic. Frederick’s is also in the business of piercing the cork and resealing it so the wine lasts longer for us lucky folks.

The levels of love that go into everything that happens at Restaurant Labart are unrivalled. Ocean views with a side of epic food and a perfectly put together wine list to match. What a treat. The wine list is kept quite small with a focus on matching to their very produce focused dishes. A subtle and delicate Loire Valley Sancerre pairs perfectly with the classics; aged Riesling matches the daily raw selection, Muscadet with live Oysters and a glass of youthful Grenache blend is just the right partner for Patagonian Toothfish. It’s all an absolute delight, just go try everything.
