Is there anything that makes you happier than cheap drinks? Neither. Because summer is the best time for beverage consuming, we’ve found the top 10 spots to make the most of your hard earned cash (and beat that absolutely unnecessary heat).

Apres Surf Kitchen & Bar
Happy hour comes around daily at your favourite surf shack. Pop in from 5pm to 6pm for $5 house drinks and $10 selected cocktails. They’ve also got tasty food deals most nights so your shiny coins will stretch far.

Bine Bar & Dining
It’s a beer bonanza at Bine with $5 craft beer daily daily from 4pm to 6pm. Why not grab some 50c wings to go with it. On Thursdays head in for a $15 parmi and paddle where you get to taste five beers and down your fave dinner option.

Stingray Lounge
Keep it classy at Stingray Lounge on Taco Tuesdays from 5pm to 10pm. There are $3 tacos and $10 cocktail specials (margaritas please). Tequila Thursdays are a good time with tequila from $15 and additional $10 quesadillas.

On Sundays at Steampunk you can indulge in a double dose of goodness with drink specials (changes weekly) and live music. Oh and Espresso Martinis are a measly $10 all day, every day so there’s no excuse not to spend all your time there.

Unsurprisingly, Burleigh’s home of the never ending good times has epic happy hour deals. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s from 4pm to 6pm there’s $5 basics (including Sailor Jerry, dry and lime HELLO). It’s guaranteed fun and frivolity.

Mecca Bah
Not only do these guys do a delicious feast they also have $5 selected drinks from 3pm to 6pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. Make a night of it and stay for dinner once you’ve slayed a few beverages.

BiN 12
BiN 12 in beautiful Burleigh graces you with a happy hour every Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm – perfect for after works knock offs. In other exciting news, they also offer a Taco Tuesday deal with some of the most delicious tacos on the Coast for just $6. Race ya.

Harry’s Steak Bistro & Bar
Make a date with Harry on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 5pm with drink and food specials that’ll absolutely make your weekend. It’s called Harry’s Hour and we like the way he thinks. Everything there is exceptional so do yourself a favour.

Elephant Rock Café

Mr PP's Deli & Rooftop

Being the day before Friday used to be the best thing about Thursday, until cheap eats was born that is.

In the name of saving pennies but still extracting yourself from the couch for a night out pre-weekend, we found a few places to get some cheap grub.

Please hold while we point out that pretty much all Mexican joints on the Gold Coast offer some form of taco Thursday situation which also involved margaritas so double win. There’s a list of those here.

Mr PP’s Deli & Rooftop Bar
Not only stunning views and plenty of good vibes, Southport’s Mr PP’s is serving up $5 cheese tasting boards and two for one pizzas on Thursday’s. There’s also fun times in the form of trivia so gather the gang and get involved.

Aloha Bar & Dining
The tropical little tiki bar is serving up the goods every day of the week but on Thursday’s it’s half price taco Thursday. Plus, their cocktails are some of the very best around.

It’s taco Thursday so head to your favourite Mermaid Mexi joint for $5 tacos and a guaranteed good time.

The prettiest of southern spaces, baskk at Kirra Point is serving up $20 pizzas all day long and they are DE-LICIOUS. Wash one down with an icy glass of rose and everything is golden.

  • baskk at Kirra Point: If you haven’t been to the breezy, beachside newbie that is baskk at Kirra Point, here’s the motivation you need. On Tuesday’s they offer $10 share plates and be warned, you’ll want to try them all. At 52-58 Marine Pde, Coolangatta.
  • Beach Burrito Coolangatta: You guessed it, it’s taco Tuesday at Beach Burrito in Coolangatta. Get yourself $3 tacos from their super long list and wander across the road to enjoy them by the beach. At 72-80 Marine Pde, Coolangatta

Hump day is always a fun time, the week is half over and it’s a downhill slope to the weekend. You know what else is a fun time? Cheap and delicious foods. Combine the two and you’ve got yourself the best day of the week.

Here you go hungry ones (listed from north to south).

At Misono Japanese Steakhouse (within Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa) you can enjoy quite the delicious feast for just $45pp. Choose from steak, chicken and salmon or steak, chicken and scallops plus Miso Soup, salad, steamed rice and vegetables. It’s quite the feast.

Pork belly ramen certainly sounds like the goods and of course, Après Surf has you covered there. Just $10 for the tasty treat, get it while the nights are still chilly.

What’s not to love about The Cambus Wallace, tucked away in Nobby’s. On Wednesday’s there’s $15 whisky glazed ribs and soulful jazz tunes. So. Much. Goodness.

Miami Marketta is the place to be on hump day with tons of tasty tapas plates to share with your mates (or not). From just six bucks a pop, you can afford to splurge.

It’s ladies night at Ze Pickle and for $20 gals, you can get yourself a Chee-ze Burger and a glass of house wine. Bottoms up.

The Kirra Surf Club is always a fun time and particularly if you’re down that way on a Wednesday. Grab yourself a (super filling) $16 schnitzel chips and salad and a frosty beer to wash it down.

Southerners get excited, at The Coolangatta Hotel on Wednesday’s you can eat all the oysters for just $1 each or $1.50 for Kilpatrick. Yes please.
