The scandalous night will take place on August 26 when guests walk the red carpet to a Hollywood awards event, complete with canapes and wine on arrival as the paparazzi snap photos, ahead of a sumptuous two-course meal.

However, the night will take a sinister turn when a suspicious murder takes place and guests will be asked to help solve the mystery.

The Gold Coast’s biggest Gardening Expo, the Botanical Bazaar, is back by popular demand in 2017 and will again be supported by Tropical Fruit World.

On Sunday 3 September, the Botanical Bazaar will be blooming in its new 13-hectare home at the Country Paradise Parklands in Nerang. With celebrity gardens, more than 80 green inspired exhibitors, interactive workshops and kid’s activities, the Bazaar is expected to be a drawcard for thousands of nature lovers.

There will be an array of plants from orchids to native and succulents, garden materials and supplies, aquaponics, hydroponics and vertical gardens, even exquisite botanical homewares for sale.

Visitors will be able to learn everything they need to know about composting, buzzing bees, growing their own food, DIY self-watering garden beds and how to make their own cheese.

Kids can get crafty at the Mr Fothergill’s Kids Hub, hosted by local environmental educators, Natura Education. They can interact with baby farm animals, see a cow milking demonstration, be surrounded by beautiful butterflies, learn about snake safety, plus walk through the large community gardens.

A delicious variety of food offerings will be available, along with locally grown organic coffee and brewers bar for the over 18’s. All complemented by live and local tunes by Mattie Barker and Mick McHugh.

Mr Assange will be joining the event via live video-link from the Ecuadorian Embassy and is one of four provocative keynote speakers leading a future-inspired conversation.

Other keynote speakers include world-renowned robotic, android and humanoid expert Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro from Osaka University, author and political commentator Jamila Rizvi and Indigenous cultural leader Kyle Slabb.

The Arts Centre Gold Coast CEO Criena Gehrke said the event provides the perfect platform for disrupters, thinkers, provocateurs and activists to come together for two days to discuss some big ideas affecting the future of democracy.

Launching Saturday November 4, Crafted Festival shines a beacon on local brewers from the Gold Coast, South East Queensland and interstate,it's an afternoon and evening celebration of all things beer and cider.

Crafted Festival celebrates everything about the joy a truly magnificent small batch can bring. Attendees will have the chance to try the best brews in the country, talk to passionate brewers and discuss flavour notes. The inaugural event takes place in the heart of Broadbeach at Pratten Park and organisers are promising a welcoming casual environment that's all about the beer, good times, music and food. What's even the point of beer without some incredible eats alongside right? South East Queensland's tastiest food trucks are set to converge on the site.
