Josh and Sophia have travelled the world from New Caledonia, Bangkok, America and Australia training Acro Yoga and Partner Acrobatics. Drawing from a collection of teaching styles they love to cultivate a space of fun, support and technique based learning where everyone feels safe to fly and try new things!

Classes run every Tuesday night from 7.00 to 8.30pm.

All through July, the Christmas in July $50 special menu is available for lunch and dinner. Garlic herb bread and curried pumpkin soup to start, traditional roasts (turkey, pork and ham off the bone), roasted seasonal vegetables, cranberry & apple sauce, stuffing & gravy and of course plum pudding with brandy anglaise and vanilla bean ice cream.   Christmas banquet lunch or dinner is also available for pre-booked groups for $65 per person.

On the mornings of 5 and 6 August, it’s not fog you’ll see rising over Burleigh…it will be smoke from 50 of Australia’s best BBQ competition teams battling it out for the highest honour in the annual Burleigh BBQ Championships.

Using low and slow cooking and BBQ techniques across five categories – chicken, lamb, pork ribs, beef and seafood – teams will present their plates to a panel of 50 judges for tasting.

The pit yard will be open to the public from 9am-4pm Saturday and 6am Sunday – ‘follow your nose’ so you can mingle with the masters, check out some of the biggest smokers you’ve ever seen and watch the theatrics unfold.

There will also be a trade area and market stalls where you can research and purchase all the BBQ equipment you need to start smoking at home.

The best part is, once you’ve built up an appetite you can eat your fill of BBQ from the likes of Black Iron Smokers, Smokin Hot N Saucy, Barraca Portuguese Chicken parked next to the pit yard, enjoy live entertainment from amazing local musicians and make a visit to the bar with proceeds going to the North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club Nippers.

Transforming Currumbin Beach into a breathtaking outdoor gallery, 50 artworks both whimsical and provocative, will delight for the free, family-friendly exhibition taking place from September 8 to 17.

The exhibition will include works by renowned Indigenous artist Michael Nelson Jagamara, as well as crowd favourite Monte Lupo and father-and-son duo Philip and Alex Piperides – with Philip also leading masterclasses at this year’s festival.

The name “James Morrison” is known throughout the world for his sheer brilliance as a jazz musician and an all-round entertainer. His recordings are best sellers and James works with the cream of the world’s best performers. Ray Brown called him “The Genius” and Dizzy Gillespie called him “One of The Best” but Wynton Marsalis summed it up: “Man, James Morrison can play!”

James Morrison is, by anybody’s standard, a virtuoso in the true sense of the word. Besides the trumpet, this multi-instrumentalist also plays piano, all the brass, saxophones, and double bass.

James will be performing one night only Sept 23 at 7.30pm, backed by his very own Academy Jazz Orchestra and featuring 18 young instrumentalists, who will have completed an immersive residency program with James himself. This is a swinging evening not to be missed!
