Surface Festival 2026

Every winter SURFACE Festival comes alive – bringing together artists of all forms from around the globe to transform spaces on the sunny Gold coast, Australia.

With 52 murals within Miami, Nobby’s Beach and Burleigh, Surface can be visited all year round. Check out our epic mural map & take yourself on a self-guided walking or riding tour throughout town.

Every year for the past five years SURFACE produces an epic two-week program with living large-scale mural paintings, outdoor exhibitions, gallery nights, live music gigs, kids events + so much more.

Surface Festival is a celebration of art & creatives here on the Gold Coast.

2026 Surface Street Art Program – Fenceline Exhibition
1–19 July

Miami’s streets transform into a vibrant open-air gallery as the Surface Street Art Program returns with the much-loved Fenceline Exhibition. Explore a dynamic showcase of creativity featuring local artists, community events, live performances and interactive experiences throughout July.

Life Drawing Session – Burlesque Edition

Wednesday 1 July | 6–9pm

An unforgettable evening of life drawing featuring a burlesque-inspired model and live music from jazz duo Out of Abingdon.

Miami Marketta Record Fair

Thursday 2 July | 5–9pm

Vinyl lovers unite at this special Record Fair featuring Beatniks (Burleigh), Flo Records (Bangalow), Record Market (Southport) and more than 10 guest sellers showcasing rare finds, classics and collector favourites.

Kool Kids & Miami High School Art Exhibition

Friday 3 July | 5–8pm

Celebrate the next generation of creatives with an inspiring exhibition showcasing works from young local artists contributing to the Gold Coast’s thriving arts scene.

Overspray – Presented by Santa Cruz

Sunday 5 July | Doors Open 3pm

A celebration of community, creativity and culture, bringing together art, live music and skateboarding for an afternoon of high-energy entertainment.

Goldtooth – Skate Zine Launch & Film Premiere

A love letter to Gold Coast skateboarding, GOLDTOOTH is a photography zine celebrating the local spots, community and characters that define the coast’s skate scene. Join the launch and premiere screening.

Miami Art Tour – Crafty Cruiser

Jump aboard the 14-seater pedal-powered Crafty Cruiser and tour Miami’s iconic mural trail. Discover the stories behind the artworks, meet artists in action and experience the creative heart of the suburb.

Drag Bingo – Live Painting Edition

Wednesday 8 July | 6:30–9:30pm

Join the queens for an unforgettable evening of laughs, performances and bingo, alongside live painting by local artist Joy French.

Drag Paint & Sip – Picasso Edition

Thursday 9 July | 6–9pm

Create your own Picasso-inspired masterpiece under the guidance of a skilled artist while drag superstar Tara keeps the energy high with plenty of playful commentary and good-natured roasts of your artwork.
