One of the Sunshine Coast’s most anticipated culinary events is back, with the Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival returning to Spicers Tamarind Retreat on Saturday 1st August as a signature event of The Curated Plate.
Set across the retreat’s lush 18-acre rainforest property, this family-friendly festival invites guests to enjoy an afternoon of incredible food, live music and relaxed picnic-style vibes. Wander the grounds with a picnic rug or folding chair and follow a delicious tasting trail featuring five Asian-inspired dishes created by some of the Sunshine Coast’s leading chefs, paired with curated beverages from premium local producers.
This year’s chef lineup includes Alex Hall (The Tamarind), Daniel Jarrett (Pocky Asian Restaurant), James Fraser (Rice Boi), Tom Hitchcock (Spirit House) and Nathan Rumble (Honeysuckle), each serving a signature dish that showcases bold Asian flavours and the region’s finest produce. Beverage partners include Twelve & A Half Acres Gin, Sunshine & Sons Distillery, Joval Wines, Brockenchack Wines and Brouhaha.
General admission includes five food tastings, two matched beverages (with non-alcoholic options available), entry from 12pm–5pm, live entertainment by Hamilton Band, and a complimentary festival keepsake cup.
Guests can also upgrade to an All-Inclusive ticket with unlimited drinks or indulge in the Platinum VIP experience, featuring a private pavilion, premium drinks package, dedicated bar and priority access.
Whether you’re a passionate foodie, planning a weekend escape or simply looking for a memorable day out in the hinterland, the Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival delivers an unforgettable celebration of food, drink and community in one of the region’s most picturesque settings.
