We’re calling it, there is no cuisine you cannot treat yo’self to in Broadbeach these days. Over the past year, the beachside suburb has transformed into a foodie paradise and that’s a big thumbs up from us.
One little space that quietly opened its doors recently is Skewers, an Indonesian street food venue offering up many a meaty morsel for very affordable prices.
You’ll find the newbie on the mall side of Oasis Shopping Centre and, with a lime green façade and graffiti-style artworks, plus irresistible scents wafting from within, you certainly won’t miss it.
The premise of the menu is simple, and as you can probably determine, it is based around skewers. All your favourite meats are represented on sticks plus there’s a vegetable option. Dishes consists of four skewers as well as rice, fresh salad and pineapple pickles (which are a true delight unto themselves).
Not only skewers though, you can also enjoy beef or lamb rendang and sides including spring rolls, dumplings, beef pockets, wontons and pork belly bao.
It is all the best things about Indonesian street food collated into the one central Broady space.
Skewers migrated east from Toowoomba, where the original store resides and with sizeable dishes for around $15 a pop, we’re pretty happy they ventured down.
It’s truly a good value feast if ever we’ve seen one.
ALSO – we’ve got a $100 voucher up for grabs so you can get on in there and try it for yourself.
