Nov 24 - Nov 26
A project born out of love and passion from a small team of creatives. Yonder is a multi-arts festival grounded in inclusivity and experimentation that focuses on supporting emerging and diverse artists in an immersive, collaborative environment.
Held in the rolling hills of the Scenic Rim. Yonder creates an experience, an opportunity, a moment for those attending to truly embrace their natural self. Harnessing a desire for connection and expression. Yonder presents the weird and wonderful – providing pathways for adventure. Allow us to deliver you the unconventional, the strange, and the eclectic.
It will be the fourth Yonder Festival, with all cultivating a culture of diversity, innovation, inclusion, and positivity. Featuring a 99-artist line-up, the event includes 57 music acts, 17 visual artists, 14 performances and 11 workshops.
Across four stages, audiences will witness the work of both international and local emerging talent, who, despite the challenges of past years, have all pushed their crafts to new heights.
As the stages warm up, festival goers can immerse in the raucous riffs of Full Flower Moon Band and punk sensation Girl and Girl, or lose themselves to the bouncing rhythms and lyrical genius of acts like Safety Club, Tjaka, Life on Earth and Accomplice Collective. Brisbane names Platonic Sex and Echowave will star while those after something new can discover the acclaimed theremin maestro Miles Brown or the transcendent guitar layers of Japan’s Kenta Hayashi.
The DJ oasis at Yonderland will be an immersive dance space serving everything from high energy disco to deep, euphoric tech-house and afro-fused jazz breaks. Punters can dance the day away with selections from the likes of Bad Taste House Collective and David Versace, before revelling in the deep night with Theyphex Twins and expert curations from Echo and Bounce, featuring live electronic dance sets from Fatshaudi and Lithe, Phil Smart and the likes of veterans Jen-E and Ralphalfa next to fresh faces like Natural Selection and dentallplan as part of Freeform Takeover.
Back by popular demand, those looking to sink into the subtle tones of down-tempo and experimental music can return to Yonder’s ambient stage The Space Between Notes. Featuring two-hour long sets across the board, this space is reserved for relaxation, meditation and deep listening.
Across the extensive arts program, Yonder will also feature a plethora of whimsical roving performances and on-stage delights, as well as a diverse visual arts program, bringing the festival grounds to life with colourful, immersive and unconventional works. There will be an array of boutique food stalls and artisanal market stalls as well as Yonder’s licensed bar, the Wunderbar.
