Gold Coast Beach Parade

Be part of the Gold Coast Beach Parade World Record attempt

DATE – DECEMBER 4, 2022.

Gold Coast Beach Parade is a world record attempt for the most people in Koala ear visors in a beach parade. The event is a celebration of Queensland’s safe, healthy lifestyle with a community walk highlighting our famous beaches and beach culture.
Our charity of choice is Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. Donations are driven by our fund raising partner Fund My Challenge
The Gold Coast Beach Parade is a 3km walk along the famous beaches of the Gold Coast from Burleigh Heads to North Burleigh and back again on the beach.
Registration Fee includes a special koala ear visor for you to wear on the day.
Our aim is to bring awareness to the plight of our endangered Koalas, and to protect them by supporting Currumbin Wildlife Hospital in helping to look after our precious wildlife and care for our iconic Koalas.

The Record

The record will be measured by the number of participants wearing a visor(with Koala ears) in a beach parade.

    1. The Gold Coast Beach Parade walk will happen on Burleigh beach opposite Justins Park, just north of the Mowbray Park SLSC. Participants will walk down the beach in single file to North Burleigh SLSC turning at the check point, and return down along the beach front to Burleigh again, and be counted as you enter the main stage area. The parade route is 3 km.
    2. A start signal will be used. All participants must pass through designated check points along the route.
    3. There is a main stage on the beach, with a suspended counter over the catwalk. All participants finish the parade by walking down the catwalk, with the counter ticking over the numbers.
    4. what to wear ….Whatever you feel comfortable in wearing and walking to save our koalas.  Wearing our koala ear visor(supplied with each entry) is necessary.
    5. There will be a beachwear fashion parade on the stage at the start of the event, in a promotion of Australian beachwear manufacturers and push to ‘buy local’
