Free NFL draft party on the Gold Coast

Calling all NFL fans! On Friday, 26^th April at Burleigh Heads Pavilion, the NFL Australia and New Zealand (NFL AUNZ) alongside the Philadelphia Eagles are hosting Australia’s first official day one draft party, featuring the team’s left tackle and Australia’s own, Jordan Mailata. As part of the event, the Philadelphia Eagles will be making a live day one draft pick. 

Joining in the fun is the team’s iconic mascot, SWOOP, and former punter and native Australian Sav Rocca. In addition, the iconic beachside location will provide American-style food, games, giveaways and more! 

The draft party and day one draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles is part of the team’s Australian tour with Jordan Mailata, demonstrating their commitment to grow American Football throughout Australia. 

From former Rugby League player, to joining the National Football League’s (NFL) International Player Pathway Program (IPP), and then being selected in the seventh round of the NFL’s 2018 draft to play on the Philadelphia Eagles as left tackle; Mailata serves as an inspiration to young aspiring athletes across Australia and throughout the world. 

Friday’s free day one draft pick event is open to the public with doors opening at 10am. Patrons are encouraged to get in early to secure their spot and be part of the action.
