Miami Block Party Hoedown

Get ready to boot scoot your way around some of the Coast’s best bars and breweries as the Miami Block Party goes west(ern) on Sunday, June 23.

The country themed shindig will see the so called ‘Liquor Lanes’ of the Coast transformed into a bustling frontier town, crawling with damsels and cowboys, with SIX venues in the Hibiscus Haven, Lemana Lane & Christine Avenue ‘block’ banding together to host the hootenanny.

They include Hard FIZZ Taproom, Precinct Brewing, Paddock Bakery, Granddad Jacks, Black Hops and Pretty Handsome. The best part is it’s FREE, with more than 1000 people expected to attend – 70% will be young families.

There’ll even be live country music, and activities and games for the kids. This month’s Miami Block Party is being run in conjunction with the popular Surface Festival.

“Time to bust out your spurs and snakeskin boots,” Hard FIZZ boss, Wade Tiller laughs.

“The Miami Block Party is always a great event but this time, we’re encouraging everyone to channel their inner Clint Eastwood and get dressed up in their best Western outfit.

“There’s a wonderful selection of locally produced craft beers, spirits and seltzers on offer; and we want it to be a family affair, so bring your kids, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

“There’ll be plenty of games and activities and prizes for best dressed. “The venues love coming together for Block Party, we’ve built such a great community and we very much appreciate everyone’s support, especially during the tram works.”

Luke Ridden, founder and distiller at Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery, is equally excited for what is fast becoming a great family event.

“The Gold Coast is now a ‘destination’ for high quality liquors, it’s well and truly on the map,” he says.

“Whether it’s spirits, craft beers or naturally brewed seltzers, there’s something for everyone.

“Held every quarter, the Miami Block Party brings locals and tourists together – I can’t wait to see the wild west come to the Gold Coast.
