Block Party kicks off at 11am on Sunday, December 10
A new streetfest is coming to the so called ‘Liquor Lanes’ of Miami, this weekend.
Block Party, to be held on December 10, will see some 1500 people turn out to sample some of the best beers, seltzers and spirits the Gold Coast has to offer as bars Precinct Brewing, Hard FIZZ, Granddad Jack’s, Black Hops, Pretty Handsome and Haven throw open their doors for what’ll be the ultimate ‘tasting paddle’ for revellers.
The event is expected to pump around $150,000 into the ‘Block’ – which is bordered by Hibiscus Haven, Christine Avenue and Lemana Lane – supporting around 60 jobs.
“It’s going to be a real celebration of all that is great about the Gold Coast alcohol making scene – specifically our little pocket here in Miami,” Hard FIZZ CEO Wade Tiller says.
“There’ll be entertainment with live music and DJs, some wonderful drinks to be tried and tasted, delicious food, and stacks of lucky door prizes.
“Best part is, there’s no entry fee – just stroll around the Block at your own leisure and stick your head into whichever bar you like.
“You might even double back to your favourite.”
Precinct Brewing owner Scott Imlach says the Gold Coast is forging an impressive reputation as a high quality liquor producing region. “This area is becoming known for producing top shelf liquor that is to be experienced and enjoyed – and that’s something we’re all very proud of,” he says.
“It’s a ‘destination’ now – people are stopping in for a gin cocktail, or refreshing seltzer, or anyone of the great craft beers that are being brewed right here in Miami.
“It’s the start of the festive season, so why not let your hair down?”
Block Party kicks off at 11AM on Sunday, December 10.
