We like big burgers and we cannot lie. Thankfully there’s a new burger joint in Broadbeach, so you can find the bun you want just in time for the weekend.
Known for delivering some of the best burgers in Brissy, now we’re getting a taste of what the Big Smoke has been keeping from us because 5 Boroughs has officially arrived on the GC and lettuce take a moment to celebrate.
So what exactly do these city slickers at 5 Boroughs bring to the table, you ask? Think the flavour and fun of New York City – the name pays homage to the Big Apple’s five famous boroughs – and we can already tell we’re going to be repeat customers at this foodie fave.
The menu offers something for everyone with handcrafted burgers in loads of different flavours, New York-style deli sandwiches, wings (obviously), waffle fries and slow-cooked beef brisket loaded on top of cheese fries and salads that you’ll want to make friends with.
They’ve even managed to marry two of our favourite things – the faithful cheeseburger and the beloved taco. And we know they say that no marriage is perfect, but surely this comes pretty close.
But make no misteak they’re so much more than just a burger bar, with Swiss Grilled Chicken and a classic Rump Steak if you’re keen to keep it simple – or for some unknown reason a burger’s not your vibe (no judgement) – without slacking on the flavour.
Got 99 problems and gluten is one of them? Well stress less because we’ve found the GOAT of gluten-free fries to help you with your carb load, so rest assured no one will be leaving here hungry.

They’ve got all the iconic NYC cocktails covered a la Sex and the City – helloooo Cosmopolitan, why did we ever stop drinking you? If you’re less about the classics and looking for a cocktail that tastes like summer then the Mango Weiss Bar Colada is guaranteed to be your go-to and trust us, it tastes even better than it sounds.
For those that fancy a brew before a cocktail there’s an epic selection of local and international beers that will keep even the most serious craft beer enthusiast satisfied and hydrated.
In true NYC style, the restaurant vibe is the perfect mix of modern meets industrial and they’ll be slinging fresh tunes all day long so it’s the ultimate spot to kick back for a couple of bevs after you’ve finished your feed.
