A Free Community Celebration of Creativity, Connection & Craft
Step into the cosy world of grandmacore and slow living at Slow Down, Stitch Up! – a free community event where creativity, comfort and connection come together.
Celebrate the beauty of handmade with inspiring artist talks and playful, hands-on workshops led by award-winning textile artists Tal Fitzpatrick and Melissa Spratt, joined by Kombumerri/Nughi woman Kiara Levinge and local community leader Beverly Gordon.
Think finger knitting, collaborative crafting, and feel-good vibes – no skills or previous experience needed, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to unwind. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or just love the idea of stitching with strangers, this morning is all about slowing down and making something meaningful, together.
Expect warm conversation, soft yarn, and a delicious morning tea – all served up in a relaxed, welcoming space.
All ages welcome – kids included.
Accessibility:
– The venue is wheelchair accessible and inclusive.
– Free off-street parking available.
Entry: Free (registration required)
This event wraps up the Threads of Belonging residency – a beautiful community artwork project about connection and place.
