Lady Elliot Island is a coral cay located at the southern tip of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef. Situated within a highly protected ’Green Zone’ the island is a sanctuary for over 1,200 species of marine life and is known for its abundance of manta rays, turtles, amazing array of spectacular marine life and unspoilt coral reef.

There is so much to discover on Lady Elliot Island, with plenty of activities on offer to help you learn more about the beautiful  Island and it’s unique history, flora, fauna and incredible marine life. The guided tours/activities are available three times a day, in the morning, afternoon and evening.

The Day Trips/Tours to Lady Elliot Island offer a great opportunity for domestic or international visitors with limited time to explore the phenomena of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Although it’s recommended a minimum of 2 nights on Lady Elliot Island to truly experience this unique Island paradise, the Day Trips/Tours will allow visitors to experience one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World from the air, land and water all in one day!

Being a coral cay, Lady Elliot Island is actually part of the Great Barrier Reef and is regarded as one of the best snorkelling destinations on the reef with an amazing array of colourful marine life. Day trips to Lady Elliot Island include return scenic flights to the Island, orientation tour, a glass bottom boat/guided snorkelling tour, snorkel equipment (mask, snorkel & fins), full use of day guest facilities, a hot and cold buffet lunch and an afternoon of snorkelling, leisure or joining our experienced guides for a guided activity/tour.

From May – November, Lady Elliot Island comes alive with the spectacular acrobatic displays of the migrating Humpback Whales.

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort also offers a range of comfortable accommodation options, with each unit, tent and cabin designed to minimise impact on the island while enriching guest’s experience of the seasonal wildlife. The Resort was established in 1984 when a series of prefabricated buildings were brought to the island which are still in use today. In keeping with the natural, eco-friendly lifestyle there are no telephones, television or radios and all rooms are fan-cooled. The rooms are simple but comfortable and have everything you need for a nice and relaxing holiday.
