Hold onto your hats lovers of beer gardens and all things outdoor drinking in the sunshine (so everyone), have we got news for you.
The Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, Surfers Paradise icon and keeper of many secrets has undergone an absolutely next-level renovation transforming it from the venue we all knew, loved and spent way to much of our youth in, to a must-visit, outdoor sipping destination.
The multi-million dollar transformation has seen the roof removed from the space to make way for a rooftop beer garden that is the first of it’s kind on the Gold Coast.
There are balconies overlooking the ever-entertaining streets of Surfers, 18 sports screens, an adult playground and sunset live acoustic music to bring the legendary venue back to its former glory.
Not to mention there’ll be monster Jenga blocks and of course, the pool tables we’ve spent many a minute losing at.
A menu focused on eats and drinks the ladies love are part of a strategy aimed at making the historic hotel an absolutely unmissable venue for locals and tourists from all walks of life both due to its’ new good looks and the historical significance of the space.
The original, built in 1925 by James (Jim) Cavill himself has long been a casual drinking hole much-loved by locals and pioneering Surfers’ good time scene.
Having closed for renovations in March, the space will reopen to the public in early August to continue a tradition at the formerly named Surfers Paradise Hotel and its renowned Birdwatchers Bar.
Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the opening date but until then, dream about sunshiny Surfers Paradise afternoons again friends, times are a-changing.
