These days there are very few places that won’t welcome your beloved puppy pal with open arms (doggy chinos are an actual thing) and those that don’t, probably aren’t worth going to.

In the spirit of celebrating the fact that dogs are the best thing that’s ever happened to anyone, the crew at Surfing Queensland have come up with a doozy of an idea.

That’s right fellow pooch lovers, PUPS on SUPS is a soon-to-be local event that you and your furry mate/s can get involved in. Finally.

On October 28th Currumbin Creek will play host to the first event puppy paddleboard event in Queensland and it will no doubt be one of the most amusing things any of us have ever seen.

There’s a 2km social paddle, for the cruisers among us, and a 250 metre Dash for Cash for those with the more streamlined furry friends.

No doubt there’ll be fur and feet flying everywhere. What a time to be alive.

Oh and if balancing on a floating board in a bikini (or your budgie smugglers boys) in front of hundreds of strangers ain’t your thing (hi), there’ll also be food trucks, coffee and a meet and greet with Ironwoman Courtney Hancock.

Happily, a portion of each entry fee will go to the magical, lifesaving legends at Animal Welfare League.

Paddleboard hire is free on the day and your dog gets a rash vest as part of the entry fee (life hey).

What more can we say, it could well be the cutest thing that’s ever happened on the Coast.
