We love local things.
Beaches, cafes, people, art, homewares. Especially homewares.
The Gold Coast is absolutely packed with epic things and also epic makers. Many of whom are now stocked at Burleigh’s newest little homewares space Home Plate Kitchen Homewares.
Now if the name sounds familiar, that’s because said homewares space can be found within a neighbourhood café and you should head down there right now for a breaky feast and a spot of shopping.
Found in Burleigh Waters on Treeview Drive, Home Plate Kitchen has been around for four years but in the last few months the café got quite the revamp including the addition of a section for locally made homewares.
Some of your favourites are there including divine candles by Drift Trading Co., dried flowers by Huckleberry Flowers, reusable cups by The Ceramic Mill, Timber and Rattan trays and reusable bottles for handwash and body lotion and the like by Uca Leon. Plus plenty more of course.
As we all know, shopping makes us work up quite the appetite and where better to sample some tasty brunch eats than three steps away?
Home Plate Kitchen have quite the menu on offer too so isn’t that convenient?
Owners Jess and Shayne are serving up goodies like a delicious breaky wrap, Eggs Bennie on a plate absolutely packed goodness, a bowl filled with delights like sweet potato fries, crispy halloumi and poached eggs and a yummy, simple eggs on toast situation.
A brand new summer menu is dropping in the next couple of weeks so you can expect some fresh goodness soon.
ALSO in case all of those things aren’t enough, Shayne (and a partner) is opening a wood-fired pizza spot right next door in the next few weeks so stay tuned for that too.
How good are Gold Coast locals.
If you’re in the market for some locally made goodies (and we know you are), this is the place.
Get in there.
