In more happy, soon-it’s-gonna-be-spring news, Burleigh is getting its very own music festival! Hey Sunshine will take place on Saturday October 14th at Burleigh Brewing Co. and feature much-loved Brisbane five-piece The Belligerents as headliners.
The brewery will be transformed for the inaugural event and will feature a nostalgia-themed stage, a sweet light show and surf film projections by local surf-film makers.
Joining The Belligerents will be electro-soulsters Bootleg Rascal and a whole swag of up and comers including the Gold Coast’s own Peach Fur, Byron Bay’s Galaxy Girls and The Cinema Wristys, and Sydney’s Borneo and Thunder Fox.
As an added extra, pop-up arts collective crew The Wonky Queenslander have been enlisted to pump up the party with their dynamic vinyl and electronic mixes in between bands.
Besides the beats, Hey Sunshine will showcase a live art feature to be raffled off for a local charity, surf films and market stalls.
The intention of the festival is to bring people together for a fun day out and then send them home full of fond memories and with new friends.
It’s the perfect addition to the local music scene and it also provides a platform for young Gold Coast creatives. Winning.
See ya there dancing queens.
