Grab the picnic blanket, prep that fave stubby cooler and start dreaming about sipping in the Spring sunshine because Gold Coast’s CRAFTED Beer and Cider Festival is back Saturday 11 September.
Once again coming through with the goods, organisers today announce the first suds, snacks and songsters to take over pitcher-esque Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach. Returning for a stellar fifth year, it won’t be ‘deja brew’ – expect CRAFTED to be ‘lager than life’. With more than 250 individual drinks to choose from this year, the festival will showcase over 40 breweries, cideries, seltzer slingers and ginger beer-istas at this day-long celebration of the perfect drop. Pair those brewskis with a boogie-worthy music lineup and a stack of delicious food vendors to keep that beer belly satisfied – you’ll be grinnin’ from beer to beer.
Setting the bar high and matching it every year, CRAFTED will be pouring cold beverages from a bunch of fresh breweries from across the country. Brand new to the festival in 2021 are Ray Hard Seltzer and Philter Brewing who will be bringing their finest drops from Sydney and Victoria. From Queensland, new players this year include Noosa’s Head of Noosa Brewing Co. and Bulimba’s Revel Brewing Co. CRAFTED also spotlights hyper-local brewers with the beloved “Locals Lane”; returning to showcase Gold Coast’s best all-in-one spot. The dedicated area will include favorites Balter Brewing, Black Hops Brewing, as well as brewing newbies Precinct Brewing, Bobs Beer, and more. More of a distillery devotee? The Grandad Jack’s Craft Distillery crew are on board again with their huge two-storey craft spirits bar worth a cheeky visit.
Setting the sonic vibe, Australia’s best local and interstate acts will take to the Gold Coast Music Stage, headlined by Tassie rockers Luca Brasi. Known for their infectious and emphatic stage presence, they are not to be missed. Ripping in from SA, powerhouse duo Teenage Joans have been soaking the airwaves with their new single ‘Ice Cream’ and are sure to impress with their rock prowess. Also in attendance, GC funk lords Electrik Lemonade will have Kurrawa Park frothin’, hoppin’, and boppin’, to their eclectic sounds. Joining them are Debbies, The Flowers, and Pure Milk supplying plenty of indie-pop goodness.
Speaking of goodness, the selection of food gets better with each CRAFTED. Also joining the CRAFTED family is Bigoli; serving delicious al dente pasta and gnocchi just like Nonna makes it. Burleigh favourites California Tacos will be bringing with their giant nacho share plates which are perfect for the crew. Plus Cychos Buffalo Wings and I Heart Calamari are on board again to provide the perfect pairing to any delicious drop.
Festival organisers are upping their game, literally – coming through with a range of fun festival activities to keep you occupied when you’re not drinkin’ or dancin’. Get paddling this year with the inaugural Beer Paddle Race, as you race your mates around a keg and try not to spill your beers. Beer yoga is back due to popular demand along with basketball shootouts, ping pong competitions and of course the infamous Cycho’s Hot Wing Eating Competition.
Don’t miss out on the golden (h)opportunity to buy a ticket, knock one back and discover your new favourite brew.
