Bastille Day Celebrations at Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach

If you cannot escape the Australian winter for summer in the South of France, worry not, you can still experience the French joie de vivre at Bistro On3 in July as we celebrate Bastille Day.

Bastille Day Lunch Buffet | Sunday, 14 July
Don your beret and join us at our annual Bastille Day celebration to enjoy an extensive buffet with a selection of dishes bursting with panache that promise to replicate the dazzle, spectacle and illuminations of the City of Lights, paying homage to the very best of the globally renowned Parisian culture and cuisine.

Be whisked away to Paris with rustic, authentic French dishes including, traditional soupe à l’oignon, chicken basquaise and the humble seafood bouillabaisse, along with croquembouche; a towering masterpiece of cream puffs bound together with caramel. Bistro On3 will be dressed to the nines in blue, blanc, and rouge French chic that will be sure to transport you to the glistening shores of the Mediterranean, exuding that distinctly French, je ne sais quoi!

Crêpe Suzette | 1-31 July
There’s nothing like enjoying a warm, delicious house made French treat on a balmy winter’s day. Therefore, in true style Français, we are paying homage to an undeniable classic of French gastronomy, the traditional Crêpe Suzette.

Celebrate Bastille Day all month-long and the joys of gueridon service as your perfectly folded crêpes, bathed in a rich orange-butter sauce, are brought out to you and laced with Grand Marnier before being set alight to reduce the sauce to the right consistency. The blue flames envelop the crêpes and perform an elegant waltz for a few moments before settling to conclude the tableside performance, leaving you with a perfectly balanced dish, neither too sweet nor too tart.
