You may not be surprised to hear that chocolate, one of the worlds most loved sweet treats, has an entire day dedicated to its greatness. That’s right, World Chocolate Day falls on July 7th and what better reason could there be to celebrate.
We’ve found eight decadent chocolate desserts so you can get your local fix (from north to south).
A dessert of the liquid variety, young Randy’s Brownie Milkshake is all the good chocolately things in the world. It’s a brownie blended with ice, milk and honey and there’s really nothing else to say. Just go order one and try to tell us it’s not the best milkshake you’ve ever sipped in your life.

Stylish sophistication is key at Seaduction. Found in the Peppers Soul building in Surfers Paradise, Seaduction offers sweeping ocean views and of course, one of the finest chocolate desserts there is. While words can’t quite describe it, we must try. It’s made up of Valrhona Chocolate (French), Matcha Tea and Sesame. Game changer.

Sparrow Eating House
If you’ve ever been to Sparrow you’ll know that everything they touch turns to gold, including dessert. The Wagon Wheel is a gluten free chocolate brownie with chocolate mousse, raspberry sorbet peppermint jelly and chocolate paint. Wash it down with a Peanut Butter Martini and your sugar high may just last forever.

The Glenelg Public House
The Gold Coast’s first gastro pub has become hugely popular over the last two years. The food is premium and the vibes are old school cool. For dessert there’s a hot dark chocolate chip cookie with chocolate ice cream and if that’s not enough to get you to mosey on down to Mermaid, we don’t know what will.

What could be better than indulging in a decadent chocolate dessert overlooking the beach at Burleigh? Nothing that’s what. How about making that dessert a Chocolate Parfait with malted parsnip and brown rice miso. Sounds intriguing doesn’t it. Order two just to be sure you like it.

Another Burleigh banger, Jimmy Wah’s serves up modern Vietnamese food and (surprise) an out-of-this-world chocolate dessert. It’s Chocolate and Almond Fudge with raspberries, cocoa nibs and condensed milk ice cream and it’s bound to be unlike any dessert you’ve experienced before.

8th Ave Terrace
Dining at 8th Ave Terrace is always a good time – relaxed vibes, tunes and an ocean breeze are all perfectly good reasons to visit. While you’re there though don’t forget to try yourself the delightful Chocolate Brownie. It’s got Belgian chocolate mousse and salted caramel popcorn. All the best things.

baskk at Kirra Point
The Coolangatta newbie is ticking all the boxes when it comes to tasty eats and one of a kind cocktails. It’s no surprise then that their chocolate dessert, dubbed Nitrogen Mousse, is an absolute standout. Think dark chocolate, coffee rocks, coconut ice cream and mint. The ultimate combination.
