We’re a lucky lot here on the Gold Coast, the array of dining destinations on offer here are vast and encompassing of all the tasty flavours there are in the world.

There are big, bold venues, offering big, bold menus, tried and tested chain-style establishments, rowdy bars and relaxed ones and, for the purpose of this story, boutique dining room-style destinations just casually offering some of the most refined, mouth-watering eats you’ve ever experienced.

Which is why we’ve gathered here today. From north to south, here are seven boutique venues whose dining experiences you must treat yourself to right this minute.

Lupo
A relative newbie on the Gold Coast dining scene, Lupo arrived at Mermaid Beach to a whirlwind of rave reviews. The cosy space offers share-style menu is made up of the very best produce around and it changes regularly so it’s likely you’ll never eat the same thing twice. Which is something we can definitely get behind. The atmosphere is upbeat and the drinks menu is filled with an array of tasty treats. A definite must-try.

The North Room
A sophisticated little space in Mermaid Beach, The North Room made its debut in mid 2017 bringing European, share-style dining to the little beachside suburb. The ever-changing menu focuses on seasonally inspired dishes and the vibe of the space is laidback and coastal. They’re both stunning and owners Tim and Shannon Stewart are passionate and delightful. Do yourself a favour.

Little Truffle
As magical as the French delicacy for which it’s named, Little Truffle offers five-star European dining in an intimate, low-lit space. It’s the work of local legend Daniel Ridgeway and, as you’d expect, it’s pure perfection. A French-inspired menu is filled with the most mouth-watering dishes you can possibly imagine and the wine list is, of course, unrivalled. If you’re after an incredible dining experience, this is the place.

Cocotte Dining
Oh a hidden gem absolutely adored by those who know it, Cocotte Dining offers a French slash Japanese menu that will blow your mind. It’s a family-owned venture, found in Robina, and it’s all of the best things in the world. Think Slow Cooked Ox Tail And Beef Cheek (oh my). There’s also a diverse range of sake, shochu, Japanese beer and cocktails to enjoy too. It’s a life-changer so make a booking right now.

The Little Plate
Another hidden-ish gem, The Little Plate can be found in Burleigh Heads and pop it on the to-do list. They’re all about food made with love and it shows. The menu is filled with beautiful flavour combinations and we are unsure how people come up with them but thank goodness they do. How does Mole Pablano chicken with chocolate chilli sauce sound. Amazing no? Plus, the space is cosy and inviting and you might never want to leave. Burleigh brilliance.

Restaurant Labart
The newest of the bunch, Restaurant Labart, was gifted to us earlier this year and what a gift it is. Brought to us by renowned Sydney Chef Alex Munoz-Labart, the space is one of the most beautiful we’ve seen with pared back wooden furniture and muted colour accents to give it a serene, sophisticated feel. The food can be both share-style and keep-for-yourself-style and every single dish on the menu is an absolute delight. Adore everything about this place.
Where: 8 West St, Burleigh Heads

Tasca
A delight down south bringing all things delicious to the people of Coolangatta. It’s a wine bar slash share-food establishment, all exposed brick and dark wood and oozing one of the most elegant vibes around. Italian, French and Spanish wines feature heavily on the menu and all can be perfectly paired with the exceptional eats. It’s a pop in for an afternoon wine, fall in love and stay late in to the night kind of place and it’s right up there with the best around. Cooly for the win.
