In restaurant land, hats are the very best thing you can be awarded in Australia and it’s an honour bestowed upon only the very best.
In the last few years, the Gold Coast has blown up in terms of new eateries and any type of food you can possibly imagine is on the table (literally).
Excitingly, we locals aren’t the only ones who are recognising the rapidly skyrocketing standards and recently, five of our fave restaurants have been awarded, you guessed it, some hats by the Good Food Guide.
More than 500 restaurants from across all Aussie states were reviewed, with 270 achieving hat status, ranging from one to three.
So how does it work? Good Food Guide co-editor Roslyn Grundy says, “Hatted restaurants deliver not only outstanding food and service but they also contribute to local economies, tourism and culture”.
We, as the reporters of all food-related fun on the Coast, are stoked that so many venues are getting the recognition they’ve worked so hard for.
Now, if someone would like to take us on a degustation-style date to all of the above, that gesture would be welcomed with open arms.
