There are many, many good times to be had on the Gold Coast but the very best time could well be a spot of friendly golf with the gang, cocktails in hand and sledges at the ready.
In honour of that, and because it’s fun to write about games, we’ve rounded up five of the most fun mini golf courses on the Gold Coast so you can plan your next weekend activities accordingly.
First of all, Boulders and Badlands is the greatest name for a mini golf course ever. Second of all, this is an epic mini golf course that you must try as soon as possible. It’s a fun-filled outdoor, 18 hole course, the biggest on the Coast they say, complete with rocky terrain, streams, water traps and a swinging pole (wait and see). Even if you consider yourself somewhat of a mini golf connoisseur, your skills (and your patience let’s be honest) will be tested here. Open from 9am to 9pm daily.
Where: 76 – 122 Napper Road, Parkwood
Somewhat of a Surfers Paradise icon, King Tutt’s is one of the most loved mini golf courses on the Gold Coast. Putt your way through prehistoric dinosaur holes and cruise around ancient Egypt or give the zombie farm a try if you dare. There are life-sized animals, a creepy cobra and a castle that you actually get to putt inside. It’s a good time if you’re after a laugh-filled group activity that doesn’t break the bank. Open from 9am to 9pm daily. Click here for a discount.
Where: Surfers Paradise Blvd & Ocean Ave, Surfers Paradise
Booze and mini golf seems like a double good time to us and the folks at Holey Moley agree. The newest addition to the Gold Coast putt putt scene, Holey Moley have produced the goods with sweet holes and a bar that’ll serve you cocktails all night long. The ‘727 Evergreen Terrace’ hole is a favourite complete with real life Simpson’s couch, perfect for a rest between putts or some sweet Insta content. There are two escape rooms so if you get sick of losing you can “duck off to the bathroom” and never return. Open 10am to 12am daily.
Where: Circle on Cavill, Surfers Paradise Blvd, Surfers Paradise
One for the Robina gang, Ice Age Mini Golf opened in Robina Town Centre in 2017 much to the excitement of locals. The indoor mini golf course is Ice Age themed and features life-sized animal sculptures that will definitely put you off your game if you let them. Oh, because they move and there are tigers and it’s really very intense. The imagery inside is pretty as a picture because well, it is a picture, and it’s the perfect place to blow off some steam after shopping up a storm. Open 10am to 9pm daily.
Where: Underneath Event Cinemas, Robina Town Centre, Robina
Another local icon, Putt Putt Mermaid Beach offers a world of fun with three, 18-hole courses, a games arcade and BBQ area for when you’ve putted your little heart out and you just need a sausage sanga to get you through. Take a walk on the wild side in the tropical Jungle Trail, get amongst colourful characters and tricky motorised obstacles on Fun Run or escape to a tropical oasis playing Waterways. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could give all three a crack. Open from 9am until 10pm daily. Click here for a discount.
Where: 2492 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach
