Righto blokes and sheilas it’s that time of year again, the one day (Sunday January 26th) we get to live our best Aussie bogan lives, proudly display our favourite pluggas and eat all the sausage sangas we like.
Yes, Australia Day is upon us and fair dinkum (sorry almost done), it’s going to be a bloody ripper.
Here are some true blue spots to celebrate our great southern land with an ice old schooner and your rowdiest crew (from north to south).
Sanctuary Cove Marine Village is gearing up to celebrate a fun-filled afternoon this coming Australia Day. Australian inspired menus will be on offer at Cove Tavern and Anchor Buoy, while the IGA will be putting on a mouthwatering Aussie barbeque with all the favourite Australia Day classics. To top off a perfect lunch, a Gelato cart will be on hand serving up delicious scoops in return for a gold coin donation. Live music will be playing throughout the afternoon and there’ll be plenty of fun for little ones including a shaded inflated obstacle course and face painters.

Harbour Vue Tavern
It’s set to be a big Australia Day at Harbour Vue Tavern with the 8th running of the CW mullet toss with great prizes for the junior and open categories. There’ll also be a kids water wands fight, entertainment by DJ Hemisfear belting out all the iconic Aussie rock classics.
PLUS Corona Buckets and $1 Wings will be available. Fun.

Forget the shrimp on the Barbie, get to Sharks this Australia Day for a range of family entertainment. Catch Mark Divola live on the main stage, there’s a free live reptile show, free kids face painting, an Australia Day KIDS DISCO with LOL Crew – Kids shows on the main stage, Aussie tucker will be added to Frenzy’s buffet dinner and acoustic BBQ Trio perform some true blue entertainment. How good.

They’ll be showcasing local talent on the main stage at Broadwater Parklands with The Round Mountain Girls headlining and support acts Electrik Lemonade, San Mei and Liv Heyer. The night will boast delicious food vendors, the JJ Richards ‘Aussie Activities Zone’ including water play and art activities, as well as beach volleyball on the foreshore and a spectacular fireworks finale at approximately 7.45pm. Support our drought-stricken farmers and head to 92.5 Triple M to donate a gold coin to Rural Aid Australia. So pack your sunscreen, hat and a picnic rug and gather your pals for a wonderful afternoon of food, fun and live music. Bring your own water bottle and visit the free water refill station.

Go and hyde-away with Hyde Paradiso on Australia Day! They have partnered with AIX Rose to bring you our renowned Bottomless Brunch, Australia Day style. Think share cocktail on arrival, free-flowing rose or beer, platters of Australian classics, live tunes and oceanside views. It’s $89pp from 12pm to 5pm and it’s set to be a very good time.

There’ll be good times at Robina Pavilion across the whole weekend, with Triple J’s Hottest 100 Live & Loud on Saturday, Live Music by Jack Casey from 12pm on Sunday, and Beer Towers & Aussie Woodfired Pizzas available all weekend long. In addition, two Kegs of VB have been donated in a bid to raise money towards the Rotary Australia Bushfire Appeal, with minimum goal of $500 being set.

The good time Miami brewery will be kicking off the long weekend with the Hottest Tunes and Beers of 2019. There’ll beer slushies and lots of activities to keep everyone entertained so grab your mates and make a DAY of it!
