There’s no denying market hopping is everyone’s new favourite social activity and what’s not to love. Locally made creative goodies, delicious food, coffee and tons of happy faces, it’s the perfect way to show some local love.
There are so many markets happening on the Coast these days, all with something special to offer so we’ve compiled a list of the top 13, listed from north to south!
NightQuarter is one of the top dogs in market land, they’ve got it all! From food to fashion and live national music acts, there’s something exciting happening every week. You’ll definitely have to come back to check it all out, one visit won’t be enough!

The Village Markets
It’s hard to say who started the market craze on the Coast but The Village Markets definitely had a huge say. With top notch designer clothing, homewares and accessories, rack sales and the best street food on the Coast, it’s the perfect Sunday morning adventure! Inside tip: The early bird catches the worm.
When: 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, 8am to 1pm
Where: Burleigh Heads Primary School, Burleigh Heads
The ‘it takes a village approach’ says it all and we couldn’t agree more! This night market is family friendly with loads of activities for the little kids (and the big ones, too). They even have an open mic night on the first Friday of every month!
When: Every Friday (closed for winter), 5pm to 10pm
Where: Country Paradise Parklands, 231 Beaudesert-Nerang Road, Nerang
Mudgeeraba Sunset Markets
Nestled in the beautiful bushland of Mudgeeraba away from the hustle and bustle of the city are the Mudgeeraba Sunset Markets. The family friendly night market offers fresh, local produce, live music, food stalls and everything in between. Escape your regular Friday routine for something a little bit special.
When: Friday evening, 4pm to 8pm
Where: Mudgeeraba Showgrounds, 115 Mudgeeraba Road, Worongary
Without a doubt the biggest market on the Coast (actually, with over 400 stalls the biggest market in Australia)! There is nothing you can’t find at Carrara Markets from fresh produce, fashion, homewares, pots, plants, bric a brac, cars, souvenirs, arts and crafts and just about everything else. Discount shopping at its best!
When: Every Saturday and Sunday, 7am to 3pm

Emerald Lakes Gourmet Food and Craft Markets
Feeling a bit fancy? Head over to Emerald Lakes Gourmet Food and Craft Markets on a Thursday arvo and indulge in some of the best street food the Coast has to offer mid-week. There’s Australian seafood, grain fed and hormone free meats, free range eggs, candles and melts, homebaked goodies and lots of crafts all handmade with love.
When: Every Thursday, 3pm to 7pm
Where: Emerald Lakes Complex, The Boulevard, Carrara
Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets
Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets are located right on The Esplanade in Surfers (as the name suggests) and is an old favourite amongst us Gold Coaster’s. No plans on Friday night? Head over to Surfers for some shopping and strolling along the many stalls, have some dinner and head out after to one of the many new bars afterwards!
When: Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday nights, 4pm to 9pm
Where: The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise
Shopping for gifts and souvenirs or the weird and the wonderful, it’s has never been easier. With over 150 stalls of handmade fashion items and accessories, homeware, food and much, much more Broadbeach Markets is definitely one you have to check out!
When: 1st & 3rd Sunday of every month, 8am to 2pm
Where: Kurrawa Park, Old Burleigh Road, Broadbeach
Miami Marketta Street Food Market
Miami Marketta is every food lovers dream come true, a whole market dedicated to delicious nibbles and dishes from all around the globe! Plus great live entertainment and fashion from local designers. Marketta is a local favourite is always packed with people having a good old time.
When: Wednesday, 5pm-9pm, Friday, 5pm-10pm, Saturday, 4pm -10pm

The Sanctuary Markets
Located on The Village Green at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, the popular Sanctuary Markets focus on the Gold Coast’s multi-culturalism featuring local and international foods as well as some cool arts and crafts. There’s a bounty of mouth watering pastries and desserts and some of the best local entertainers. The venue is fully licensed and features a great range of craft beers exclusively from Burleigh Brewing Co.
When: Every Friday, 4pm-9pm
Where: On The Village Green, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin
Spend a leisurely Sunday strolling around Queen Elizabeth Park enjoying all the sights this beautiful location has to offer and right on the beachfront in Coolangatta. Whether you’re after handmade fashion, jewellery, homewares, skincare, toys, fresh produce or just something unique you won’t find in the shops, you’ll find it here. Come along and enjoy a great family day out in the sunshine.
When: Every second Sunday of the month, 8am to 2.30pm

Hide & Seek Children’s Market
There’s certainly no shortage of beautiful babe-inspired businesses on the Coast and now you’ll be able to find them all in the once place. Hide & Seek Children’s Market is a new initiative by mums Bec and Kaurissa who saw an opportunity to bring the cutest of clothing and accessories, decor, toys, furnishings, family photographers and doulas to the one spot. It’s going to be a beauty mamas.
When: Saturday 26 August; 9am to 1pm

The Laneway Night Market
Think local designers, creatives and homewares in the ArTHaus Projects warehouse as well as delicious treats and a sneaky film in the Laneway. The girls over at Never.Ever.Studio will be opening their studio to a local photographer on the night for a live photoshoot too! It’s a totally unique little market packed with all your favourite local creatives (and some you might not know about yet)!
When: Friday August 11, from 6pm
Where: 2/5 Karen Ave, Mermaid Beach
There’s plenty of local famers markets around the Coast to grab your fruit, veggies, locally made goods and of course, breakfast and coffee. Such a nice way to spend your Saturday morning and it certainly best the supermarket. Try these to start:
