It’s that time again Gold Coasters, bust out your best green garb and get in the Irish spirit because St Patrick’s celebrations are nigh.
Traditionally the March 17th Feast of Saint Patrick celebrates the passing of Ireland’s patron saint, yep Saint Patrick, and was traditionally a Christian feast.
Today, while still a time for feasting, the day (in Australia) is very much about downing copious pints of Guinness at your local Irish pub.
Here are seven events at which you can do just that on March 17th (from north to south).
Harrigan’s Drift Inn
It’s a whole weekend of fun up north at Harrigan’s with live music, an authentic Irish lunch on Saturday and Irish dancing to get the party cranking. Cold beer will be flowing and there’ll be plenty of good times to get involved in.
Where: Harrigan’s Lane, Jacobs Well
Discover and celebrate Irish culture at NightQuarter with live entertainment from a traditional Irish pipe band that will share the sounds of Ireland skirling on the bagpipes. Jack Be Quick will be playing on the main stage with their pop Irish tunes and Rantan will be bringing some Irish jigs to the Backyard. Head to the NightQuarter bars for some lucky green beer, Guinness and delicious Irish cocktails.
