It’s that time again Gold Coasters, bust out your best green garb and get in the Irish spirit because St Patrick’s celebrations are nigh.

Traditionally the March 17th Feast of Saint Patrick celebrates the passing of Ireland’s patron saint, yep Saint Patrick, and was traditionally a Christian feast.

Today, while still a time for feasting, the day (in Australia) is very much about downing copious pints of Guinness at your local Irish pub.

Here are seven events at which you can do just that on March 17th (from north to south).

Harrigan’s Drift Inn
It’s a whole weekend of fun up north at Harrigan’s with live music, an authentic Irish lunch on Saturday and Irish dancing to get the party cranking. Cold beer will be flowing and there’ll be plenty of good times to get involved in.
Where: Harrigan’s Lane, Jacobs Well

Discover and celebrate Irish culture at NightQuarter with live entertainment from a traditional Irish pipe band that will share the sounds of Ireland skirling on the bagpipes. Jack Be Quick will be playing on the main stage with their pop Irish tunes and Rantan will be bringing some Irish jigs to the Backyard. Head to the NightQuarter bars for some lucky green beer, Guinness and delicious Irish cocktails.
Where: 1 Town Centre Drive, Helensvale

Dublin Docks Tavern
Doors will open at 10am with live and authentic Irish music from 11am followed by an incredible Celtic dancing display. At night, there’ll be a covers band from 8pm and you can enjoy specials on Guinness and Kilkenny pints all day. Traditional Irish food specials are on offer as well as best dressed prizes.
Where: Harbour Town Drive, Biggera Waters

Waxy’s Irish Pub
It’s always a good time at Waxy’s but particularly on St Patrick’s Day. Entertainment starts from 12pm with Irish music until late as well as pipes and drums to keep things real. Of course, there’ll be plenty of Guinness, Irish whiskey and everyone’s favourite, green beer. Irish food specials like Guinness pie and lamb stew are on offer as well as giveaways and best dressed competitions.
Where: 3206 Surfers Paradise Blvd, Surfers Paradise

One Cavill
One Cavill will be stepping back in time and embracing it’s Irish roots this St Patrick’s Day with their famous Saint Patty’s Day meals and specially themed drinks. Go dressed in your best Irish outfit for a chance to win some sweet prizes. The Luck of the Irish party starts with DJ Mick Ellen at 6pm followed by Angelo Pash until late.
Where: 1 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise

Fiddlers Green
It’ll be a green soaked danceathon at Fiddlers Green on St Patricks Day (and the next day) with live music and plenty of good times to get involved in. The Gathering kicks off festivities at 10am, Alan Clancy from 2pm and Agent 77 from 8pm until late. Head in for a pint of Guinness (or three) and celebrate the day with our Irish friends.
Where: 39 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise

 D’Arcy Arms Irish Pub
The home of Irish good times on the Gold Coast is hosting the party of all parties on March 17th. There’ll be live Irish musicians, pipers, dancing displays, pop up bars and food trucks. If set menus are your thing, D’Arcy Arms is just $35 per person including all your Irish foodie faves – Irish apple cake with whiskey sauce anyone?

Southport Sharks
Celebrate all things green and find your four-leaf clover this year at Sharks, with a huge range of food and drink specials to get you in the Irish spirit. Enjoy a traditional Irish lunch at Frenzy’s with a Guinness Pie and Can from $14.90, or perhaps a $5 Jameson and Apple cocktail from the Lounge Bar is more to your liking? Relax in an open-air cabana and enjoy a selection of Irish themed cocktails from just $12, including the ‘Leprechaun’. From 8.30pm on the main stage, there will be live, FREE Irish entertainment thank to O’Leary & The Munster Bucks.

Clancy’s Irish Bar

Where: 2 Main Street, Tamborine Mountain

Celtic Festival
The Tamborine Mountain Show is on over the St Patrick’s Day weekend and the Celtic Festival forms part of celebrations.
