Being the day before Friday used to be the best thing about Thursday, until cheap eats became a thing.
In the name of saving pennies but still extracting yourself from the couch for a night out pre-weekend, we found a few places to get some cheap grub (from north to south).
Swannie’s: The Southport fave is serving up $10 pizzas and burgers on Thursdays, so round up your crew and head in for a filling feast.
Where: 34 Nerang St, Southport
Ultra Lounge Bar & Café: It’s Tapas Thursday where you can nab yourself 50% off share plates and enjoy an icy cold wine or two while you’re at it.
Where: 1/38 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise
Arnie Ziffel: It’s thrifty Thursday with, wait for it, a burger, beer battered fries, three chicken wings and a cold drink for only $9.90. Can you even believe that’s possible?
Where: 3-15 Orchid Ave, Surfers Paradise
Miss Margarita’s: Forget taco Tuesday, roll on taco Thursday where you can get three tacos for $15 OR three tacos and tecate or wine for $20. Arriba.
Where: The Wave, 101/89-91 Surf Parade, Broadbeach
BonBon Bar: It’s taco Thursday so head to your favourite Mermaid Mexi joint for $5 tacos and a guaranteed good time.
Where: 2460 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach
Little Mermaid: Get in on the action with a burger, fries and a beer for only $15. That’s a doozy of a deal. Plus, you get to sit amongst the greenery and down a cocktail or two.
Where: 2557 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach
Fire Cue Bar & Grill: These guys are grilling up the $22 half-kilo racks of beef ribs on Thursdays. You can get pork ones for $25 and a pretty little side salad for balance.
Where: 1/2243 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach
Bine Beer Bar: The team are bringing the goods with a chicken parmy and beer tasting paddle for $15. If you aren’t full by the time you leave, we’ll eat our hats.
Where: Shop 1/28 Chairlift Ave, Nobbys Beach
Wildernis Bar & Restaurant: The wildlings come out on (Rn’B) Thursday’s with two tacos and a Corona or a glass of sangria for just $15. Get it gang.
Where: 1166 Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach
Currumbin Vikings SLSC: It’s all about the two-for-one meals on Thursday arvos from 5pm. There’s 180 degree ocean views and cheap beers too. Best.
Where: 741 Pacific Pde, Currumbin
