Get rid of that guilty conscience once and for all gang, World Chocolate Day is almost upon us and it would be rude not to participate. That’s right, the sweetest day of the year falls on July 7th and what better reason could there be to eat all of the sugary treats.
We’ve found 10 of the best chocolate dishes on the Gold Coast (from north to south) so you can satisfy that sweet tooth we know you’re harbouring.
A dessert of the liquid variety, young Randy’s Brownie Milkshake is all the good chocolately things in the world. It’s a brownie blended with ice, milk and honey and there’s really nothing else to say. Just go order one and try to tell us it’s not the best milkshake you’ve ever sipped in your life. P.s they also have Coco Pops.

Fresh off the streets of Hong Kong (aka Hong Kong street food) bubble waffles have taken the dessert world by storm. The guys at Bubbo Dessert are creating bubble waffles topped with the most delicious of sweets and wound into a cone shape, because cute. The Devil is a chocolate waffle with chocolate chips in the bubble pockets, chocolate ice cream, Tim Tams, chocolate flakes, topping and Nutella and oh man, is it the goods. Chocolate for days.

Stylish sophistication is key at Seaduction. Found in the Peppers Soul building in Surfers Paradise, Seaduction offers sweeping ocean views and of course, one of the finest chocolate desserts there is. While words can’t quite describe it, we must try. It’s white chocolate brulee, pear and macadamia nuts and it is a game changer.

Okay so this place is probably where the term next-level was coined due to the absolute excessive craziness of their creations. Burgers and sides aside, let’s talk cocktails because woah mama, these things are good. Chocolately good in fact. The Bueno consists of Bacardi Carta Blanco, Frangelico, Mozart, Chocolate Liqueur and vanilla cream which is then topped with hazelnut foam and a Bueno bar. Yes indeed. It’s a sight to behold (and a pleasure to sip).

A dedicated dessert bar in Pacific Fair, it goes without saying that Cowch will come up with the goods. How does a Cookie pancake stack sound? It’s warm pancakes layered with crushed Tim Tams, Oreos and topped with cookies and cream ice cream and milk chocolate. It’s literally all your chocolate dreams come true.

The Glenelg Public House
The Gold Coast’s first gastro pub has become hugely popular over the last two years. The food is premium and the vibes are old school cool. For dessert there’s a hot dark chocolate chip cookie with chocolate ice cream and if that’s not enough to get you to mosey on down to Mermaid, we don’t know what will.

Sparrow Eating House
If you’ve ever been to Sparrow you’ll know that everything they touch turns to gold, including dessert. How about Cocopop Panna Cotta with Milo mousse, milk crumb and malt icecream? What is life. Wash it down with a Peanut Butter Martini and that’ll be your day/month/year made in one meal.

Dining at 8th Ave Terrace is always a good time – relaxed vibes, tunes and an ocean breeze are all perfectly good reasons to visit. While you’re there though don’t forget to try yourself the delightful Chocolate Empanada. It’s crispy pastry filled with warm chocolate and served with pistachio nut ice cream. All the best things.

Backbone Bar & Kitchen
Tucked away in Tugun is the moody, vibin’ space that is Backbone Bar & Kitchen. They’re all about serving up the very best bao, dumplings and craft beer there is and we are right behind that. Chocolate-wise they’ve got one of our faves on offer – Chocolate Mousse Cake and it, friends, is an absolute taste sensation. You’re sure to leave Backbone with a mile wide smile on your dial.

The Coolangatta institution is ticking all the boxes when it comes to tasty eats and one of a kind cocktails. It’s no surprise then, that their chocolate dessert, which is a Chocolate and Hazelnut Mousse with raspberry puree and hokey pokey icecream is as good as it gets. Head down there for a decadent feast and top it off with one of the very best desserts around.
