White Gold Creamery

It’s common knowledge that cheese is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Smooth and creamy or sharp and crumbly, there isn’t a cheese in the world that doesn’t deserve love and adoration.

Some cheese though is not created equally but it is created right here on the Gold Coast by Bronwyn and Michael Lind at Biggera Waters’ White Gold Creamery.

The Creamery came about when the couple, both Analytical Scientists, moved to Beechmont from Redcliffe. Driving through the mountain one weekend, they came across a sixth generation dairy farmer and asked if he could show their children how to milk a cow. After hearing his story, they decided to support the local dairy industry and thus, the cheeses dreams are made of were born.

After experimenting in their kitchen for several years, as only scientists can, the couple had perfected their recipes and opened White Gold Creamery just two years ago.

Today, they have many varieties of beautifully handcrafted cheeses including the ‘Duck Creek’ a semi-soft cheese spiced with cumin and an extremely popular cows milk Halloumi. The ‘Lost World Valley’ is a cloth-bound aged cheddar named for the region White Gold Creamery’s milk suppliers reside in and is as perfectly stunning as you’d imagine.

There’s also cultured butter, buttermilk and yoghurt if you want to fully embrace the decadent dairy.

White Gold Creamery’s intention is for the Gold Coast to become known for our local produce and in turn support the farmers and growers. They are passionate about only using ingredients sourced locally and encourage the rest of us to do the same.
