If you have kids, this list might save you from insanity these school holidays, a bullet-proof plan on how to keep the little ones happy and entertained.

Ice Skating
To get you in real Winter mode, chuck the kids in a beanie and scarf (maybe even gloves) and head to Iceland in Bundall for a fun and exciting afternoon on ice. Sessions run Monday to Sunday from 10.30am to 8.30pm (times vary Wed - Sat).

Whale Watching
Another popular activity for the kids to remember is Whale watching. Whether you want to experience those magnificent creatures close up with Whales in Paradise or Spirit of Gold Coast, or spot them from shore is up to you. Sure to be an experience they'll never forget.

Pacific Fair
What's not to love about the new Pacific Fair, great food, world-class shopping, a cinema, the list goes on. If that's not enough to keep you and the fam entertained, check out the amazing kids holiday workshops they have on offer, like Krispy Kreme's Doughnut decorating classes, create your own veggie garden and pasta and dessert making classes.

Robina Town Centre
Robina Town Centre is bringing loads of fun and a splash of colour to The Promenade with Box Pop, two large 20ft shipping containers, designed to inspire kids imaginations and challenge their creativity. Or head into The Kitchens with the little ones, to decorate their "Cookie Masterpiece" at The Kitchens Cooking Stage, with free workshops for children aged 5 and up.

Broadwater Parklands
Broadwater Parklands in Southport should be every parents favourite place to be (especially in the holidays). As per usual, there are going to be loads of fun activities such as the balloon art workshop where the kids can learn all about balloons (Saturday24th June from 9am), or circus play where they can learn how to be a circus performer (Sunday 25th June from 10am).
Insider tip: Head to Cafe Catalina to wind down after a fun filled day with the family.

Metro Australia Fair
Join Australia Fair Metro these school holidays and prepare a tasty and nutritious recipe with free Kids in the Kitchen Interactive Cooking Classes daily from 26-30 June at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm.

There's always time to stroll down to your local market, nibble on some yummy food, hunt down some bargains and enjoy the communal vibe with the whole family. NightQuarter is putting on some extra special events these school holidays to make the whole market experience even more special. How about wildlife adventures with real Australian wildlife on display on Saturday 24th or the waffle making class on Saturday 1st July.

Rainy day activities

Day trips

Mt Tamborine
Every child needs some outdoors time, away from the Ipads. Well, lucky that Mount Tamborine is only a 40 min drive from Surfers Paradise but will feel like you're transported to a little village somewhere in Europe. Get amongst one of the many walking trails and discover beautiful waterfalls, have a picnic at Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens or just stroll along the Gallery Walk located on Long Road and discover cute little cafes, wineries and shops (you can't go past Fudge Heaven).

Winter on the Gold Coast is usually accompanied by beautiful, sunny days, the perfect time to grab the kids, pack your picnic bags and enjoy your cheese and cracker in one of these amazing picnic spots.


Mudgeeraba Show
Get ready for the 89th Mudgeeraba Show held on the 24th and 25th June at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds. Like every year, there will be an enormous amount of entertainment, engaging activities for people of all ages, fine cuisines, endless ring events, poultry, cattle and animal attractions, arts and crafts, show bags and much more.
When: Saturday 24th June , 8am - 9pm/ Sunday 25th June , 8am - 4pm

The Adventures of Peter Pan and TinkerBell
 This winter you will be flying high at The  Arts Centre Gold Coast. Get excited for one of the most magical musical pantos of them all, The Adventures of Peter Pan and TinkerBell, featuring  sumptuous glittering sets, spectacular effects, gorgeous fairy-tale costumes, fantastic song and dance numbers, infectious and riotous comedy magic and bags of audience participation. Fun and laughter is guaranteed for the whole family from ages 3 to 103!

Circus of Illusion

Pocketful of Pebbles
Mr Phoenix is feeling a little worse for wear. It’s true he’s not as glamorous as he used to be. His feathers are falling out. His memory is failing. Oh dear.
