Cuban-inspired restaurant El Patio De Cuba, in Surfers Paradise, has recently launched a new menu and it’s filled with all the colour and flavour you’d expect from its country of origin.
The Josper menu, named after the speciality oven the dishes are cooked in, boasts smoky, authentic food and mouth-watering flavours from entrees through to desserts.
Both an oven and a griller, the Josper can reach temperatures over 500 degrees Celsius and can be found in modern Spanish kitchens. This rare appliance is unique to El Patio de Cuba and there are only a few within Australia.
Now, on to what the Josper can create!
Entrees are aplenty and vary from ‘Spanish Paprika Marinated Prawns on pineapple skewers with pear and mustard sauce’ to ‘Charred Cha Cha Chorizo tossed in rosemary, thyme, garlic and honey’. All the flavours are infused and sealed into these tasty openers.
Vegetarians and vegetable lovers will enjoy the Mushrooms with goat’s cheese and leek gratin and the Charred Corn on the Cob with Parmesan and sweet chilli oil.
If you’re not full yet, the main of choice is the Cuban Style Sirloin Steak, deliciously marinated in Cuban herbs and spices and accompanied by popular South American plantains, roast pumpkin and herbalicious chimichurri sauce. Cooked in the Josper, the steak is tender, smoky and delightfully complements the crispy vegetables.
The dessert menu should not be ignored either, particularly the Spanish Churros. These little sugar cinnamon morsels are served with dark chocolate dipping sauce and Bailey’s infused cream.
It’s a party in your mouth, all washed down with a sweet, refreshing Cuban Mojito.
HOURS: 11am to 11pm daily.
LOCATION: Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre, Surfers Paradise Blvd, Surfers Paradise.
