Hot cross bun season is officially upon us. It's time for chocolate lovers and Easter bunnies to rejoice, you're favourite holiday weekend is kicking off today! But there is more to Easter than just eating ridiculous amounts of Cadbury eggs and hot cross buns.
We went on the hunt for you to find the most eggstravagant events happening around the Coast this long weekend.


Family Friendly

Australian Street Entertainment Championships
Kicking off this Friday are the Australian Street Entertainment Championships. Surfers Paradise is once again transforming into a carnival of laughter and entertainment. See performers take to the stage across Surfers Paradise, all vying for the crowd's attention over the Easter long weekend.

Easter at The Star
April is chocolate month at The Star, we say perfect timing. Get your squad together this long weekend and enjoy a chocolate filled Easter at one of four delicious restaurants.
Choose between Cucina Vivo and enjoy traditional Italian fare with a little flare this Easter. Garden Kitchen & Bar, which is open for breakfast treats, Easter hunts, lunch, dinner and late night drinks for you and your loved ones. Easter long weekend at NightQuarter
NightQuarter's Easter festivities start off on Good Friday with a huge night of family fun. Easter egg treasure hunt, kids disco, show bags, face painting, balloons and live music from Paul Costa and Gemma Kirby.
On Saturday get excited for more fun for the whole family. Head to the Kid’s Carnival and meet the Easter Bunny or hold a real life bunny! There will be an Easter themed kids magic show, chocolate eggs and lots of fun! Later on get ready for a sweaty and sultry night of dancing as Bleach* Festival visits NightQuarter for the first time with free live music from Sabor y Control and Rio Rythmics.

Easter crafts and Easter bunny visit at Broadwater Parklands
Easter holidays with the family sorted. Get into the Easter spirit with egg decorating, bunny design and bunny ear making and a visit from the Easter Bunny himself.

Highly Sprung, Bleach* Festival
Highly Sprung is a new, outdoor, trampoline spectacle that will bounce its way into Broadbeach. This dynamic new work takes place on a series of Olympic sized trampolines, binding acrobatics, dance, physical theatre and music into an irresistible collision of performance and playground. Choreographic, acrobatic and storytelling skills will wow in this physical theatre piece that explores the everyday challenges of four people finding it difficult to start the day.

Easter at Capri
Meet and greet the Easter Bunny, get your face painted, or watch amazing balloon artistry. There will be an animal farm, Easter egg give-aways, food tasting, competitions and prizes. Don’t miss this wonderful day of free family fun.

Vintage Eat Boutique Markets Currumbin
Quickly becoming the Gold Coast’s must-do event each month, the Gold Coast Design Collective markets have now established themselves with ‘Vintage Eat Boutique’ across from Currumbin RSL. Offering a tempting array of handmade arts and craft, eco, retro and vintage wares, this colourful boutique bazaar brings a fresh flavour to the local market scene and your Easter Saturday.

The Gold Coast Twilight Market
The first Eat Make Grow Markets will be held this Easter Saturday and is set to become a regular seasonal event. The space will transform into regular foodie hub with the best food trucks, farmer’s markets, arts and craft stalls, cooking demonstrations, and live music to enjoy from 3pm until 9pm. There will be an abundance of family friendly activities throughout the day including a free jumping castle, Easter Egg Hunt, rock climbing and a craft corner for the kids.

Easter Eggstravaganza Sanctuary Cove
The free, family-friendly event will include a large Easter egg hunt, arts and crafts, bungy trampolines, a baby animal farm, special Easter-themed dance classes, face painting and more. Families can take a train ride around The Marine Village, or cruise the surrounding tranquil waters on board the MV Kilkie ferry. Be sure to wave to the fun-loving roving entertainers who will also keep crowds entertained throughout the day.

Bleach* at Burleigh
Salsa, sand and sunshine will slide into Burleigh Heads for Sabor y Control’s nal performance. This Easter Sunday afternoon will open with a dreamy combination of psychedelic soul, blues and funk that is the one-man-band of Benny D Williams. Also on the bill is Brisbane based rising stars Slip-On Stereo. With their seamless blend of pop, R&B and reggae, this will be another epic line-up to close out Bleach* Festival 2017.

Food Truck Feast and Fireworks Broadwater Parklands
Come along and bring your family and friends. Grab a bite and enjoy the ultimate 80s flashback, then finish it all off with our fantastic Easter fireworks show.

Justin Lane Rooftop Party
Justin Lane Establishment and Go Go Tropico Unite to bring you an old school themed rooftop party this Easter Sunday. Expect more Hip Hop, Soul & Funk then you know what to do with from DJ's Stevie Z, Dick Cosmic and Little Fritter.

The Remedy at MELBAS
Melbas’ has “THE REMEDY” on Easter Sunday for the official launch “The Remedy” kicking off at 9 pm. Come experience an international vibe featuring four DJ’s from different parts of the world. Music by DIEGO-MAS (Spain), HAMA-P (Japan), CORBETT (OZ) and RIKITON (PR/USA).

Komune Playboy Pool Party
Summer might be over but Komune's legendary pool parties surely aren't. Get ready for what's going to be a night to remember. This Easter Sunday Komune hosts the  Playboy Pool Party! Arrive before 8pm wearing your best bunny ears for a free gift from Komune's own Mr Hefner.
