Fu Manchu is the name and Asian Fusion is the game.
Recently opening on Chevron Island and hidden behind a heavy black lacquer door is the sexy double story Oriental kitchen, Fu Manchu.
The owners combined two shops and have completely remodeled to create this enchanting new restaurant. With the goal of creating a moody, masculine and sexy space, they used recycled timber, dark palates, imported wallpaper designed by rock star Lenny Kravitz, and a celestial dragon theme to make Fu Manchu an alluring dining experience, where diners can take their time and enjoy the sultry ambience and flavourful shared dishes.
Striving to be unique and bring sophistication to the Gold Coast, Fu Manchu mixes seductive décor with succulent European and Asian flavours for a night diner’s won’t forget.
Open for dinner 7 nights a week and with lunch Fr/Sat, diners can enjoy seafood options such as the Miso and Saffron Spencer Gulf Mussels with wakame, lapceong and Insta-worthy black bamboo bread; vego options like the popular Gooey Panko ‘Son in Law’ Eggs with chilli caramel and wasabi rocket; a delightful Bao menu with the duck and plum being most popular, or something bigger like signature dish, Singapore Chilli Crab or the Sticky Asian Beef Shortribs with hand cut chips and Sapporo battered onion rings.
There is a full bar, but skip your regular and try the Oriental Espresso cocktail made with Silipo Dragon Fire coffee, it’s an Espresso Martini for the daring …
