Mamasan: "a woman in a position of authority, especially one in charge of a geisha house or bar"
They say there's a lot in a name ...
When you slip into Mamasan you will notice the perfect joining of traditional South-East Asian fusion and modern sophistication, which creates the restaurant's unique and "mysterious" vibe. What can only be likened to that of a Geisha house, it's almost as though this Broadbeach restaurant has been designed with adults only in mind; the dim lighting, red hues and dark colours leave you enticed and completely sedulous to your dining experience.
The hint of modern industrial style can be seen in the polished concrete flooring, steel wine racks incorporated into the walls, edgy exposed lighting, large concrete pillars and timber furnishings. All accompanied by the perfect placement of oriental styling. Brightly coloured bird cages hang from the ceiling, Asian relics are displayed on the walls and the woman in the red dress is proudly on display overseeing the restaurant, a feature in itself.
Take somebody that you've set out to impress or go with a group, and go for the banquet .. leaving your taste buds overly satisfied. The Mamasan KFC puts any number of secret herbs and spices to shame, the Red Wagyu Beef Curry melts in your mouth and we guarantee you'll become a glutton when it comes to the Pork Bao. Just when you think your tantalisingly sensual experience couldn't get any better, out come the desserts (we'll take one of everything thanks), presentation so alluring you almost don't want to eat it. Once the Mamasan Chocolate Brownie hits your lips though, there's no turning back, only the moments in between to stop and admire the details and then order you Passion fruit Tarte.
Communal style dining is prominent throughout, booth style seating along the surrounding walls of the restaurant, high bench tables both inside and on the external balcony, large high round tables that are perfect for group bookings, and bar style seating in front of the open kitchen.
Open 7 days a week from 12pm till late, Mamasan is perfect for both business or pleasure.
