Having mastered the ‘feel like you are eating at your Italian Uncle’s house’, Alfresco has grown from a humble pizza shop originally located in Southport to a steady queue out the door on a week night, kinda place. With a foundation built on family, Raff Velardo and his wife Natalie strive to keep the strong values his parents Mr. and Mrs. Velardo implemented upon first opening in 1992. Relocated to a bigger venue in Surfers Paradise, the family restaurant is still popular today by continuing their impeccable down to earth service, kind smiles and traditional flavourful dishes.

Having recently undertaken a fancy renovation, Alfresco’s interior leaves nothing to be desired. With hand painted Italian landscape feature walls, photos of loyal customers, exposed brick, plenty of green foliage and wine bottles to enhance the Italian scene setting, this family friendly spot is non pretentious, welcoming, and sure to be enjoyed by all.

The menu is everything you would expect from a traditional Italian restaurant.

The bruschetta with sliced ciabatta, tomato, basil, Spanish onion and olive oil has been made to perfection with the addition of a sweet housemade balsamic drizzle.

Enjoy the fresh black Mussels from South Australia with housemade chili Napoli sauce and crusty Italian bread, or opt for one of Raff’s favourites, the Alessia Pasta with roasted pumpkin, chicken, pine nuts, spinach and a white cream wine sauce.  If keeping it simple is more your thing, you’ll want to try one of their signature pizzas like the Sofia with fresh tomato slices, cold buffalo mozzarella, basil and olive oil.
