It’s no secret the shopping and restaurant scene on the Gold Coast has really stepped up its game of late, but there’s even more good news people, it’s still getting better!
This week, Robina Town Centre unveiled its plans for another upgrade, to the tune of $160 MILLION and it’s set to be completed by the end of the year. Named ‘The Kitchens’, this new interactive mall is said to be a multi sensory experience taking local foodies on a ‘gastronomic adventure’. Foodies rejoice!
This culinary concept (the first of its kind in Australia) is being called a ‘food playground’ where food lovers, chefs, artisans and providores can come together and experience tastings, workshops and master classes in open kitchens and pop-ups. Along with exciting classes, foodies will enjoy the 55 new retailers that will complete the space. The location of this sensational new food hub will be between the new Coles and Woolworths, which will continue to trade.
The Kitchens will become a bustling urban marketplace where Gold Coaster’s can shop, dine, socialize and learn about the many culinary options on offer. We can get excited for fare such as New York style bagels, Italian wood-fired pizzas, South American and Greek food (we heard George Calombaris will be making his QLD debut with Jimmy Grants here), a delicious assortment of gelato and wines, plus many more. Spanning two floors, food courts just aren’t what they used to be (thank god) so it’s going to take you a while to eat your way though this new culinary adventure!
The backbone of The Kitchens is culture, so they will also be showcasing live local musicians, films, theatre and art throughout the space for your entertainment pleasure.
Stay tuned, as we will have more updates in the coming months, as more details are revealed…
