Taking the magic of a weekend market and making it accessible everyday is the idea behind the new brick and mortar store, Good Time Trader in Burleigh.
Imagined and brought to life by Good Time Trunk Company owners Jake and Lei-Ahna Newell, they wanted a place where start-up labels could showcase their goods like they would at a local market, but in a more permanent location. It’s the perfect solution to wanting to pick up a local gift at anytime. They call themselves, ‘The realest retail space on the Gold Coast’.
Showcasing over 20 local brands, Good Time Trader has a wide array of products including homewares such as rugs, candles, art and recycled timber furniture, women, mens & kids fashion, soaps, vegan nail polishes and other beauty products, plus what every Gold Coaster can’t have enough of, beach towels, carts and Banshee skateboards.
Much like the markets, as there are eclectic and vibrant array of items by many different artisans, the store is constantly evolving. You never know what you’ll end up taking home when you pop in. It’s the perfect place to find everything you didn't know you absolutely needed.

Another newbie on the block is AS Colour in Mermaid Beach.
They are around in other parts of Oz, but the Gold Coast is lucky enough to get the first Queensland store (take that Brisbane!).
Sticking to the basics with high quality threads, they are making perfect T’s that don’t lose their shape. They believe in making premium apparel that can stand the test of time (gotta love that!).
Their motto is: Quality is key. Respect the details. Keep it simple.
Lacking in the domestic goddess department, we can totally get behind clothing that is durable, simple and classic; easily washed and easily worn. Not to mention, since it’s all pretty basic and the colors are mostly solids, mixing and matching is easier than ever!
Look for the neon AS sign along the highway in Mermaid Beach.
