FINALLY, the new wing of Pacific Fair has opened!
We dropped in to have a look and answer the question that’s on everybody’s mind, is it really as good as people are saying? Is the hype justified?
Yes it really is and with $670 million in redevelopment, we would hope so.
The new development has put high-end Gold Coast shopping on the map, by adding stores that were previously absent. Locals and tourists alike will now be able to shop on the Gold Coast like they would in a major metropolitan city. Did you know the Gold Coast get more than 12 million visitors a year? Good grief, how did we not have a shopping centre like this sooner?
With stores like David Jones, Christian Louboutin, H&M, Coach, Michael Kors, and UNIQLO already open, and Prada, Hermes, and Furla coming shortly, Pacific Fair has transformed into the largest shopping centre in Queensland and fourth largest in Australia (take that capital cities!).
Bryan Hynes, Managing Director of AMP Capital Shopping Centres says “When the opening of Pacific Fair is complete in mid-2016, the centre will have an unparalleled retail mix with a combination of international high-street stores, iconic global, luxury brands and leading Australian fashion, leisure and lifestyle retailers”. We like the way that sounds!
Besides GREAT new stores, what else is making Pacific Fair the bees knees you ask?
Well, the design is simply amazing. Ladies send the men out for a relaxing spell in one of the many outdoor lounge spots while you grab a new bag, or soak up some sun in the breezeway before you make your way up the grand staircase to The Patio, where you can dine on some not-so-shopping centreish food (a Big Mac and Louboutins just didn't seem right), then skip over to the Gold Class cinema at Event Cinemas for a matinee.
In the coming weeks, live music, artists and special promotions will be on for your entertainment.
Looks like the days of heading to Sydney for a big shop are over!
