Lokoa

What started off as a mere daydream in 2009 turned into an independent Australian lifestyle brand that has been featured in the pages of Instyle and OK! Magazine. The Gold Coast based bohemian fashion label specialises in exotic handmade leather bags, wallets and clothing inspired by local designer Brie Shinn’s love to travel and explore. The colourful and unique pieces resemble every bolt and creative women’s wanderlust, bringing a sense of mystery and adventure into their lives. You can find Lokoa every Sunday at “the Village Markets” or in the Bohemian boutique “Freedomestate” in Burleigh Heads. For more info check out their website

Willow & The Little Gypsies

Why we love the 2013 founded children’s fashion label? Because their cute designs are ideal for free-spirited little people living within the beachy culture of the Gold Coast. Cassandra Cooper, mother of 5, started off as a stay-at-home mom creating clothes for her little ones when she realised the increasing demand for unique and ethically made clothing. Shortly after that she launched her Facebook page and Website, the rest is history! You can find Willow and the little gypsies at any of Gold Coast’s arts and crafts markets or online at www.willowandthegypsies.com

The Lobster Shanty

Now something for the fashion-savvy men amongst us – insert “the Lobster Shanty”. Jarro Dartnell is the brains behind the Australian beach-oriented fashion label/clothing store. Inspired by his Granddad Jims’ love for the sea, Jarro created his own boutique range of signature tee shirts and snapbacks but also offers a wide array of seasonal essentials for the like-minded adventurers such as Brixton, Obey or Santa Cruz. To keep in the loop check out www.thelobstershanty.com.au or visit him at the Village Markets.

Myra Swim

The Gold Coast is known for being the bikini capital of Australia and that not without reason. If you’re from the Gold Coast it is very likely that you basically live in your bikini/swimwear and that you have come across one of its numerous swimwear labels including MyraSwim. Bianca Elouise has launched her first line of MyraSwim in 2014 and hasn’t stopped since. Inspired by the sun, surf and the sea and the idea to create a swimwear line for curvier women Bianca has reached an international following including customers such as Kim Kardashian herself. You can find the high-quality pieces at the “Sean Scott Photography” boutique in Burleigh or online at www.myraswim.com.au .

Wild Heart Jewellery

Wild Heart Jewellery is a mother/daughter duo who started to design bohemian chic jewellery a bit over 6 years ago. You can find their love for road trips, travel and freedom in each piece they create. “We draw a spiritual energy from the natural stones and crystals such as turquoise, amethyst and quartz and identify the power behind each piece. We want to share our passions and inspirations through our creations”. You can check out all their collections online at www.wildheartjewellery.com.au or try them on in person at the Village Markets every Sunday.

Casey Tanswell Designs

Drawing on the premise of clothing as an art form, the label, Casey Tanswell, was born of a longing to present women as works of art. The female form is celebrated and enhanced with a palette of opulent fabrics, themselves a testament to art and skill.  The use of specialty fabrics and faultless fit has become a signature of Casey Tanswell pieces, designed and constructed to be both timeless and unique. Launched in 2012, the self-titled label is a melding of both an International Business and Fashion Design background, and an accumulation of European, architectural, and artistic influences.
Our favourite thing about Casey Tanswell Designs is that every piece of clothing is uncontrollably chic! It's the stuff dream wardrobes are made of! Check them out here. http://www.caseytanswell.com.au
