New to Broadbeach is Hatch & Co!
With it’s great location (the corner of the Oasis building and across from the Broadbeach park) it’s the perfect spot to pop in for a drink while you are out and around Broadbeach. Hatch & Co is elevated and features a beautiful patio overlooking the park and central Broadbeach. Styled in modern decor, its a relaxing and hip place to be. I myself popped in for a late lunch, and was happy to be warmed by the sun on the patio as I sipped my rosé!
Hatch & Co has a menu ranging from Snacks in the 10 dollar range all the way to mains which reach to prices of about 30 bucks. I tried the Hatch & Co burger which came with chips, and I tried the Char-grilled wagyu skirt steak. The burger was the perfect afternoon snack and had some mighty fine pickles on it! The chips were delish, especially after dipping them in a side of aioli.
The skirt steak was yummy as well. The thinly sliced meat was sat in a bowl of jus and was topped with salsa verde, it was all very flavourful. The slow roasted tomatoes that accompanied it were tender and juicy!
The steak dish was a carnivores dream! Although flavourful and delicious, it was a gracious helping of meat, I ended up having to order a loaf of sourdough bread to supplement the carnage. (Meat lover’s, this is the perfect dish for you!) The sourdough had to have been my favourite part of the meal. Fresh out of the oven it was piping hot. As I cut into the loaf it steamed as I broke past the crusty crust. Served with salted butter pads and olive oil, it was simple and delicious.
As the sun hung low in the sky, I figured 2 hours was a long enough lunch (It was easy to hang there!) I headed home already thinking about when I would go back for more sourdough!
