8 places to get your Mexican Cantina fix..
Hola Amigos! Sunday the 6th November marks International Nacho Day, which seems like a good enough reason to gather your besties, stick on a sombrero and celebrate this crunchy, cheesy goodness stack at one of these Mexican inspired Gold Coast hot spots.
Your favourite laid back rooftop that I also home to the ultimate Sunday session, is serving up some of the best Mexican dishes on the Coast, including Nachos, of course. Crunchy (hand-made) tortillas topped with fresh salsa, loads of guac and your topping of choice. Share them or have them for yourself, we don't care, just get amongst it.
California Tacos / California Cantina
This award winning Baja style Mexican restaurant reminds of a laid-back taco shop somewhere in southern California. Thank god is nestled right along Gold Coast Hwy in Burleigh Heads. Their Nachos made with handmade corn chips are to die for, another favourite are the loaded fries (the modern nacho) - must try!
Crazy Bull Mexican Cantina
The Crazy Bull Mexican Cantina in Tugun has a mouth-watering Nacho selection with over 8 different Nacho choices that you’ll have to see for yourself! Besides the usual pulled pork and chicken variations they also have a spicy vegetarian option - mhh!
The Pickled Cactus
This hidden gem is a well kept secret, located in Harbourside Markets right opposite Harbour Town in Biggera Waters. Their Mexican-fusion menu is off the charts, so good! What's best about it, they do VEGAN Nachos, you heard right - served with vegan cheese and vegan sour cream. For the non vegan, these guys also offer the epic Macho Nacho bowl!
Mexico meets Byron Bay and Broadbeach! This fun and funky restaurant is a hit with the locals offering moreish food and “hit the spot” cocktails. Open for lunch and dinner, the guys at Miss Margarita offer you the Ultimate Nachos! With the choice of chilli con carne, house black beans, Mexican pulled pork or Chipotle Chicken. Broadbeach & Byron bay
It's cool to be kind and even cooler to say no to meat! The Greenhouse Canteen in Miami have plenty of reasons to go vegan, we love every item on the menu. One of the stand-outs has to be the quinoa chilli loaded nachos, 20 oven baked organic corn chips, house made chilli and mozzarella nachos served with guacamole, sour cream, turmeric cheese and fresh seasonal vegetables.
Hard Rock Café
These guys really do create their nachos to rock star standards! Hard Rock Nachos, tortilla chips piled high and layered with three-bean mix, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses, pico de gallo, jalapenos and green onions, garnished with sour cream and your choice of southwest chicken or fajita beef.
