Willow Dining Room

Fooditecture: To combine food & architecture.

We can only be grateful that Ian Jul Banghal gave architecture the flick and decided to pursue his passion of cooking instead. Now Gold Coast locals are lucky enough to experience the culinary delight that is "Fooditecture". A mix of modern Australian, Mediterranean and Asian Fusion, Willow Dining Room offers an eclectic menu of delicious tapas and large share-worthy meals that are bursting with flavour.

A bric-a-brac styled restaurant with a relaxed environment that can be likened to that of close a friends home. The quirky chairs and tables (all a one-of), modern artwork and funky lighting create an atmosphere that you want to share and enjoy with others. Safe to say that the restaurant itself matches the food perfectly.

The extensive menu offers a world of flavours, but what we are really excited about is Willow Dining opening their doors for breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings! Do Red Velvet Pancakes with fresh strawberries, cream cheese glaze and chocolate fudge syrup tickle your fancy? Then this needs to go on your priority list! How about a Baked Egg Tajine, Kofta stack or Breaky Bowl instead?

Your senses will be tantalised on every level, a Chilli Kiss Cocktail to add that extra spice (dedicated to Ian's wife), crispy Slow Roasted Pork Belly for the perfect salty crunch, Cream Cheese and Feta Filled Baked Mushrooms that melt in your mouth. We guarantee no matter what time of day you're at Willow Dining you'll find a dish that's going to knock your socks off !

The show stopper.. an award winning design ... The "Jerk Chicken".  Willow Dining Room's most popular dish, comes with great unveiling. A smoke filled dome presented before you, aromas of smokey apple hickory filling the air,  as the glass is slowly lifted and the smoke clears you are left with Jerk Chicken stacked upon saffron rice, beet reduction, zucchini and haloumi.  Flavours so perfectly captured your mouth will begin to water before it's even hit your lips.

Taking over Willow Dining Room in 2015, Ian has brought a new menu and new flavours to a Gold Coast local, creating a new Gold Coast favourite.
